HDNet Toasts Comedian Zane Lamprey With 'Drinking Made Easy'

Lamprey Will Executive Produce and Host this Brand New Series Premiering Wednesday, October 6!

Download image DALLAS, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- HDNet announces the premiere of "Drinking Made Easy," a new series hosted by Zane Lamprey, formerly the host of the cult sensation "Three Sheets." "Drinking Made Easy" premieres Wednesday, October 6 at 8:30 p.m. ET on HDNet.

"Drinking Made Easy" follows Lamprey, his drinkin' buddy Steve McKenna and veteran stand-up comedian Marc Ryan as they travel across the country discovering local pubs, watering holes, breweries and distilleries. Drinking customs have contributed to our great nation's birth, growth and distinction, and "Drinking Made Easy" documents the group as they seek out the adult beverages, culture and mixologies that are unique to America's cities. Over 24 episodes, viewers will join Lamprey, his cohorts and 15-person crew as their tour bus logs over 10,000 miles of America to Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Denver, Miami, Milwaukee, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco and Seattle among many others to discover each city's drink made easy.

"After bartenders, there is no one who knows drinking better than comedians. And as the old joke goes, comics work 15 minutes a day; so who has more time than me to discover the drink specialties and customs of every city I visit while embarking on a national comedy tour?" said Lamprey. "Steve, Marc and I are the perfect trio to show America how drinking is made easy."

"I've been a fan of Zane's for a long time and he's a perfect fit for the HDNet audience," said Mark Cuban, president and co-founder of HDNet. "We're looking forward to 'Drinking Made Easy' becoming a Wednesday night staple on HDNet!"

Over the past few years, Lamprey has become a seasoned traveler and accidental expert on alcohol. Having been dubbed "a professional drinker," "the international drinking ambassador" and "the Indiana Jones of drinking," Lamprey has found himself a niche market. So, it was a logical decision for him to capitalize on his success in the alcoholic beverage business by releasing his first book "THREE SHEETS: 6 Continents, 15 Countries, 190 drinks and 1 Mean Hangover," published by Villard Books (a division of Random House). His entrepreneurial spirit has helped him to build an empire around his brand, thanks in large part to a league of dedicated fans. For the past several years he has developed the reputation as a personality that people trust.

Lamprey will serve as Executive Producer of "Drinking Made Easy" via his Inzane Entertainment production company. Additionally, Lamprey, McKenna and Ryan completed a 53-city national comedy tour fittingly called "Drinking Made Easy" while filming the series.

Once again, thanks to Time Warner Cable for replacing HDNet with MAV TV

Zane is one of my favorites and I was really bummed when Three Sheets made its exit (both times).

Great to hear we'll be seeing more of him. Here's to (hopefully) HDNet getting the past Three Sheets eposodes up as well. I am missing a few in HD. Although I got most of them from Mojo, Fine Living was not on my cable system in HD.

Looking forward to this. Zane rules.

This is the first I've heard about Zane's new show. As a fan of Three Sheets, this looks good. I'm gonna set the ol' DVR and chill some beers! Salud.

I was thinking the same thing. There are now no decent movie trailer/review shows left on TV. Sorry trailerama, I do not want to see that Scoobie Doo movie trailer for the 40th time.

*sigh*

Did anybody see the Atlanta episode yet? Your own tap at the table is one of the best ideas I've seen in a long time, people need to spread that idea. The only drawback is 32 ounces! If your at a table for 2 football games 32 ounces is not going to cut it. Just put in a breathlyzer machine like the bar in New Orleans had in it, now that is another good idea that needs to spread. Because a good D.O.T. certified breathlyzer is 100 bucks, that machine was only a buck a pop.

Another good idea for the show is going to beer or alcohol festivals, so Zane can showcase a lot of local breweries in one episode.

Really enjoying this show. I believe it was Milwaukee that had the scorpion shots; I believe Zane had 23 scorpions, and Steve had 19. Nasty!

Very entertaining.

I really enjoyed Three Sheets. Too bad he can't seem to get a show on a cable network that has widespread distribution.

Yes, and I'll drink to that!

I'm glad Zane is back in business, but I really don't find the eating challenges that Steve McKenna is involved in particularly entertaining. Most of that amounts to alot of food being left behind.

I can't believe this thread has been dormant!
This is one of the most entertaining shows going today.

Funny, interesting, educational...everything you need to know to open your very own pub or cocktail lounge and have fun doing so.

Maybe I need to watch it more often then. Every time I've tuned in it was about two guys getting s***-faced, and not much else. I was hoping it would be more like a travelog where the hosts discover offbeat, interesting locations and some new wild mixed drink that I could duplicate.

Actually, that is exactly how the show is now.

Terrific fun to watch....can't recommend it high enough (heck, even the wife likes it).

Same here, my wife and I still enjoy this show. When that and CelebriDate were back to back for a few weeks there, that was our Wednesday night.

Funny thing is I told her about the show (after I watched one episode) and she said "it sounds stupid...something only you would like."
Needless to say, after watching an episode...she was hooked.

McKenna is my hero. I DVR both the new episodes and repeats. I had forgotten about this thread until sir oink gave me a gentle reminder.

Zane and the hot blonde producer Melissa "Mel" were recently married. In honor of that, I'm gonna do some McKenna'ing this evening.

I'm confused, I thought Zane was married to a little Asian girl and McKenna was married to Mel's (twin?) sister.

Lemme go search the web....

I'm on Zane's email list and was sent this last month.

Congrats to Zane and Melissa Lamprey

Congrats to Zane and his new wife, Melissa! The couple got married last month on the island of Maui. The ceremony was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the drinks were amazing. Oh, and Steve missed his flight...

Searched the web and found the answer, but it looks like you beat me to it.

Apparently, he was married to the other girl from 2006-8.

I gotta say he has good taste in women...Mel is VERY hot.

IMDB says McKenna is married to a "Joanna," is this Mel's sis?

Was she in any movies? Can we get some shots of her in the "...Hottest girl" thread?

I'm not seeing too many new episodes coming up but I've set a series recording anyway. The Missoula episode airs again on Saturday so I'll check it out.

She is the producer of the series...I don't know if she qualifies.

IIRC, there are only a couple more episodes this season.
I'm sure re-runs will happen and you can probably watch previous episodes online somewhere.
And I think last season is out on disk too.

LOL...probably not.
But she really is a knock-out.

Melissa and her Twin, Jessica were on the Reality Series Treasure Hunters as a part of the 'Grad Students' team.

Thanx for the info.

So....Zane and Steve are each married to one of the twins.
Hmmm...that seems a little awkward????
