I would imagine they'd have a review within a month. Sometimes reviews are early, sometimes they are late.

The biggest thing I'm curious to see is if the red and green phosphors are faster than the ones in the VT25 series! CNet is running Panasonic's "kids with red/green t-shirts" banner add... lolz!

Here I was JUST deciding that the VT was not worth 1000 dollar premium for 3D and 96hz. HOWEVER, since these new sets have 96hz and 3D and should be sitting around 4-500 bucks higher than the g25s I'm stuck again! LOL!

3D I can do without, but the 96hz option is fairly big to me since my old eyes get cranky with much judder or flicker.

In the review under the features it mentions 96 hz. If this set really is just 3D then I'm still goin G25 flicker and judder be danged. LOL!

I'm really interested in the GT25 and it's ability to convert 2D to 3D for things like Hockey broadcasts.

Does anyone know where or when it will be available? I've called Bestbuy, Ultimate Electronics, and even Panasonic directly...no one seems to have an answer.

Costco (GT24), Fry's and Sears have them now.

Interesting avforums review specifically mentions the TV decodes DD+. I wonder if VieraCast is getting Vudu. I sure hope so. No point in starting that rumor though. We will see I guess.

Has anyone tried watching planet earth converted? This feature is lacking in the vt25, and I can't decide whether to buy a gt or at vt for this reason, and I don't even know if its even a worthwhile feature that outweighs the superior picture quality from the vt series.

I finally decided to stop reading and start going out and really looking at different products.

At the store I checked out the 2D to 3D on the Samsung for movies and for Soccer ( I watch Hockey but thought it would be comparable).

I was not impressed at all and ultimately bought the VT25. I think when you first see 3D there is the "wow" factor, but once that is over, its going to come down to content that is filmed with 3D in mind. Otherwise it really is just a gimmick.

Since I've gotten the set home, I am absolutely floored how good the blacks and color accuracy are. The 3D effect is so much better with darker lighting and without other TV's around to set off flicker.

I guess the question for the GT25 is whether Panasonic is using any different algorithm than the other manufacturers for 2d->3d.

Now trying to decide between the c8000 or a gt25. Don't really wany to spend the extra money for the vt25. This decision has been agonizing.

Did anyone buy the GT series yet? I am torn between the VT50. I had the salesman at Fry's try to turn on the 2d to 3d conversion but they didn't have it hooked up to any live broadcast and frankly he didn't know what he was doing.

I may buy the 46 GT at Costco. They have a 90 day return policy. Although, I can get a pretty good deal on the VT50 at a local place in Houston.

Considering the 96hz feature on the VT25 is crap thanks to banding and contour artifacts, I don't see myself paying an extra half g for slightly superior PQ.


I'd like to see some input lag info on the GT20/25 before buying it though.

I'd be all over the c8000 if not for the input lag.

I bought the 46" Gt at Costco on Sunday. It seems to have a yellow tint to the picture and I am disappointed. I already own a Panny Plasma and it doesn't, so i called Panny and they said that isn't normal and I could have a service call. I will probably switch it out.

so far the 2d to 3d isn't that great, but the 3d is super.

I am wondering if I should go get the VT.

I've had the VT25 for a couple of weeks. Break-in is finished and I am thrilled with the 2D and 3D picture quality.

The Panasonic blu-ray player it came with however, is very disappointing. Skips chronically on 2D blu rays. I eventually swapped it out for my PS3 as the primary player.

Floating blacks?

Ok my tv seems to be defective. The picture shakes sometimes during the news if they use different video. Once I saw black spots on a video of water. Is that floating black?

I am going to switch it out for a new set. Where is their QControl?

Yea that sounds like a messed up TV.

Floating blacks is when you are looking at a mostly black scene and the black is changing on you (getting brighter/more gray ). Want to say changing colors on you but that is not exactly correct.

They are the main reason I have not bought a plasma yet.

Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster. I just got a 50" GT25 yesterday. I can see what people are talking about when describing it as "grainy", but I can only see that if I'm within 4 feet of it. I don't hear any buzz at all. I don't have 3D glasses so I can't comment on that part of it, but I'll answer any questions if people are interested.

My GT25 arrived on Monday, but I haven't had a chance to unpack it yet. I also have not purchased the glasses, as I'm still debating if it's worth waiting for the new models (with different sizes, better light blocking, lower weight) to become readily available (and possibly come down from their current $160/pair price), or go for the older glasses, which are about $95/pair now.

What source material are you using when you see the 'graininess'? And what are you comparing this display to? I'm coming from a bargain 1080p Vizio LCD display, and my main gripe with that is the banding in bright scenes.

I'm coming from a 4 year old 42" 720p Visio LCD, so it's a tough comparison. I've tried several different sources: Uverse, over the air HD, etc. I took a shot with my digital camera from about 8 inches away to try and highlight the effect (over the air HD). I have to add that from farther away the TV looks amazing. Perhaps all plasmas look like this up close? I can't post links yet but it's on imgur:

I also noticed that I have two pixels that aren't completely functional: the first one won't turn red and the second one won't turn blue. Not a huge deal but I thought that issues like this were a thing of the past.
