Question re: Zone 2 and Pandora

Hi all,

I tried searching for the answer to this question, but I cannot seem to find it (though I am certain it's out there somewhere).

I have a 5.1 setup in our living room where I am streaming Pandora to my tv, and running the audio through my Integra 50.2 receiver via the ARC. I would like to get the Pandora audio content to my outside/deck speakers, realizing that in order to do so, I will need an analog input. Integra suggests that I run analog cables from my tv to the receiver's Zone 2 analog input, which I am happy to do, but am wondering if others have another way of doing this that would not require more cables to be fished through the wall? Has anyone come up with any alternative solutions?

If this has been discussed in another thread, any links you can provide would be much appreciated since most of the answers I've found to this question just seem to end with, "the only way to get audio to Zone 2 is to run analog inputs."

Can't you use your receiver's built-in Pandora streaming, rather than your TV's?

it is not as cheap as a pair of RCA audio cables, but a Western Digital TV Live Plus box will stream Pandora directly to the Zone 2 inputs and sit right next to the receiver (if you can get a CAT5 cable to it, or attach a wi-fi adapter to the USB port). It will also stream any directories of digital music you have available via a "network share".

Duh - I guess this is the easiest (and probably the most obvious) solution. I just called Integra (not sure why the guy earlier didn't suggest this option), and I can, in fact, run Pandora directly through the receiver which eliminates the need to run any more cables to/from the tv/receiver.

Thanks for suggesting the obvious, Jim.
