so, is there a way to log what wakes up my computer from s3/sleep?

it can't go a night w/out something waking it up.

Download Standby Tracker and let it run. It runs in the background and tracks wake up and sleep events

I'm going to assume you're using Windows 7, but you can run this command to see what might be waking it up.

1) Open a command prompt
2) type powercfg -waketimers

Again, assuming you're using Windows 7, you can also open the task scheduler and it should also tell you what is setup to run automatically on your system.

FWIW, my wakeup problem was due to Windows Media Center downloading guides. I turned off the feature.
