new lcd trouble

hello,bought a new DP42840 last night and set it all up.When
watchin
the tv,the screen goes black for a second,then quickly goes
through the
picture settings(vivid,standard)then goes back to
normal...its good for
a few minutes then does it again..it is connected via hdmi
from high def
motorola box with hd signal.....is there a setting for
this,or should i
return it.

also,when i have the menu on,it does not do this,but the signal in the background does

Thx,While I was waitin I used same cord and input but from dvd player and so far it hasnt done it watchin the dvd..
Ill go try the component on the hd box.

HMM...didnt do it with the component either..plugged the hdmi back in and problem started immediayely....hard to think that the hdmi out on the box is screwed when until yesterday it plugged into a 40 in 1080p tv,all I did was swap the tv's,is it possible that just the hdmi inputs are garbled on the tv..no,cause it there is no prob from the dvd player with the hdmi...
