So by the time the SB is on, I will probably have about 20-30 hours of break in slides done. I am a bit concerned about the static scoreboard and what not present during the SB and what it could do to the TV since I haven't broken in it for very long. Am I being paranoid?

Probably. There are so many commercials during the game that it will never be up for very long.

I was only semi-safe with mine when breaking (ran no slides) and mine seems just fine a couple hundred hours in

Things need to be static for 30 minutes to more than an hour to burn in. You are all set.

Thanks guys. Looking forward to the game now!

Try to keep your contrast and bright levels around 50 if you can.

dont know if this question is relevant to our tv's but here goes:

at my new place the tv will be wall mounted above the mantle. the home builder has already supplied a wall tube to run the cords in the wall, however, it goes up, through the roof joists, towards the side wall, down the wall and to exit on the bottom near the floor on the wall to the left.

im guess its going to be about a 25-30 foot run. I of course checked out monoprice, but shipping has to be really thought about when ordering to canada from them. I CAN however, get rocketfish cables from BB at a good discount, so im thinking this may be an option.

However, i would probably need to connect 2 cables either using their high speed (26AWG, comes in a 24' and a 8' that i would connect together with their adapter), or else the rocketfish "advanced", which is a little more speed capable, but maxes out in 15', so i would connect 2 of those. Don't know the guage of the wire.

On monoprice, i read that they reccomend running 22AWG if you're doing over 25ft of wire run... but even then they don't sell a 30ft or 35ft 22AWG hdmi.

So, will i be fine running either the high speed or advanced rocketfish hdmi's using a coupler? And, i will also have to connect an xbox, ps3, dvr, so i'll have 3-30ft runs of this stuff going into that tube.

Anyone can think of anything better for my scenario?

The free run of bhazard settings helped me understand my PX950 better. The picture after implementing the settings was much, much better, but still off for my unit.
I called ISF technician too!
Bellow you would find my settings shared with you for free simply because what is perfect for me very much likely would not be perfect for you.
Also, the tech used the very latest software and unfortunately for me had a glitch in the PDF printing department. All I got was XLS file that I converted for you into PDF.
Also, I'll share my ISF settings for my BD580 3D DVD player attached directly to PX950 via HDMI 1.4
All my ISF DAY/NIGHT settings on PX950 are the same except the very first "Contrast or White Level" & "Brightness or Black Level" - if you think about it make sense
The same applies for my ISF DAY/NIGHT settings for BD580

Regarding the 20 points, well, we corrected a lot of them, not just 60 &70.
Enjoy your PX950

P.S.
Could not attach any file - anyone to help with that?
I'd guess the moguls haven't permit me with that yet... anyone?
Still the same....

Thank you Good luck
Finally got it... Firefox was the problem!?! Manage it with Safari...
Enjoy

Great! Sure to take a look tomorrow and compare with bhazard's calibration.

Lubenator, wow thanks. Your settings have worked best by far on my set too. Really looks great, I appreciate you sharing this. Thanks bhazzad too for sharing, however Lubenator's settings seem to fit my set much better.

Damn Lubenator, I was starting to think that this tv simply couldn't get much better than the factory thx settings, but your settings have improved my picture to what seems to me to be dead accurate. It really looks nice and I again thank you for sharing. I'm curious, if you don't mind sharing, how much it cost you for this. Whom ever did your calibration was good or had good equipment.

Hello Mike,
Glad that is working for you! The cost was $250.00 + HST ($30.00)=$280.00
In Vancouver (Canada) area, several people who could do that job. I didn't go with Future Shop or Best Buy personnel. They are cheap and inexperienced. I could pass it on if needed, but anyone could get it from ISF website.
Hope that helps
Cheers

Wow guys, I just had my new 60PX950 delivered today and imo the picture on this thing right out of the box is amazing. I put it straight into THX Cinema mode and tried out The Dark Knight, Avatar and Toy Story 3. Awesome.

Yeah, so it's no Pioneer Kuro or Panny VT20, but I'm well pleased with it. I even chucked on the 3D demo disc that came with my Panny BR player and (despite some initial scepticism) I was very impressed with the 3D picture. The better half even "oooh'd" and "aaaah'd" over the city of Rome footage.

Jeez, there's still break-in and calibration to come...things can only get better.

I'm ecstatic with this purchase. It's my first full HD panel and I'm a bit giddy with excitement.

I bought a 35ft high speed flat cable for $20 that works great from my PC to tv.

I think I may even try Lubenator's settings as well to compare. I like the more in depth IRE adjustments.

It is interesting to see such wide variations in settings from CNET to mine to Lubenator's. No two tvs are the same I guess, or maybe different production runs have something to do with it? I wonder if my settings would be better for people who bought from Conns during that deal? Doesn't hurt to try them all. All the settings look good in some way.

Yes it is, I tried your settings, but didn't seem to like them compared to the CNET settings. I'll be trying Lubenator's this weekend to see if there are any subtle differences...

This is a Conns Deal TV ...60"

this looks good and very reasonable shipping to canada, however, does it matter that it says its not CL2/CL3 rated for an in-wall installation?

Only in wall rated I've found at 35ft.

Bhazard, my tv was also bought from Conns; the settings I tried from you didnt work good on my set. After trying yours I had went back to the thx setting. These new settings have worked better than thx 4 me. I doubt it has anything to do with Conns or date of production. It's probably that no tv is exactly the same etc. Kinda like several same model cars with the same options would all perform differently. It's possible that if I have my set calibrated too, it would also be different and could possibly give even greater results. However with where it is now, I'm not going to spend 1 cent, because it sure looks great and I couldnt be more happy with this purchase and settings. I was thinking about getting my own calibration, but I don't think I need to anymore. Thank you both very much for sharing your settings. It's greatly appreciated.

I mentioned this earlier in this thread.

Tests were done with several of the same
displays calibrated with the exact same settings
and none of them showed equal picture results.

So, calibrating an LGPX950 with someone else's
settings doesn't mean it's going to look exactly
like theirs despite the fact it's the same model.

I would just like to thank everyone for all the great information that is posted on this TV. I am extremely happy with this TV, and this is my first plasma, and I really love it. I'm still waiting for the 3D glasses that are on back order, but they are suppose to arrive in another two weeks. I bought mine from Paulstv and they have given me a $50.00 store credit and also will ship me a free 3D IMAX Blu-ray Movie, Under The Sea, because of the delay in receiving my glasses. I must admit, they have done a very good job, from a customer sat standpoint and I was fortunate I was able to use a coupon and get the TV and glasses for $1099.99

I originally had purchased Toshiba 55WX800U 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz Cinema Series 3D LED TV bundle from Amazon which was a great deal, but I didn't like all the clouding that came with this TV so I returned it, also the blue ray was terrible that came with the bundle.

Well thanks again everyone !!
Lubenator, thanks for posting your calibrations. I too will test them against bhazard's. I've also tried CNET's and didn't like it.

Still waiting on the panel to come in so I can report back on that experience...the DSE definitely noticeable on various splash screens now that I'm looking for it.

Thanks Lub for sharing, although i'm confused as why there are tweaks posted in your pdf in regards to both 2 and 20 pt GS. I thought it was either one or the other, but not both, that you select and tweak.

Hi all thier was a post asking if thier is a way to use isf calibration in 3D.
One way I found was go to Qmenu select your isf setting then hit the av input once for thx cinema. Then load your 3D content when you are in thx3DCinema hit the av input button cycle around to off the off is the last thing you selected with the Qmenu. Go into menu and hit picture you will see it selected you can also hit 8741 and make changes if you want too hope this helps.

I gotta tell you guys. These last two calibrations seems too green to me. I know everyones eyes are different even the TVs but does anyone else think it's too green. Funny things is, and I've tried, I can't figure out the recipe to pull some green out. I've tried a few different things...

I wanna love the calibration but can't get past the greens. Contract and brightness feel good...
