'Smallville: The Final Season' on The CW HD

Season 10 is upon us, and I'm sure there's information floating around concerning who will and who won't appear, but I'm not looking for it. I'm guessing Lana (Kristin Kreuk) will return for at least one episode.

Last season's cliffhanger had Clark falling off a skyscraper after vanquishing General Zod. He has a sliver of "blue" kryptonite in his side (placed there by the good general), which variety renders a Kryptonian human.

The question is: will he remove the shank and take off like a rocket, or crash deep into the earth unharmed? He's not gonna die from his fall, for sure, but "will he fly?" is the question. Will he soar like an eagle or simply do a brief glide, never to perform it again until season's end?

Anyway, Season 9 was the most consistent in about 5 seasons, IMO, and I hope they really keep it going and wrap with a great conclusion.

Not supposedly, Chloe will be "leaving early" but it hardly matters now because it's the final season anyways.

I'm still hoping a young Bruce Wayne (sans Batman) will make an appearance.

This should be a very good season. Supergirl, aka Kara, returns this season.

Hopefully, there will be another Justice League episode. We need Green Lantern.

Thank you very much for that spoiler.

Please use spoiler tags.

Devil's advocate...

Chloe leaving is not a spoiler? But Kara returning is?

Technically speaking, I thought both of those bits of information came from the same source (showrunners of Smallville talking at comiccon).
I'm pretty sure Kara's return would have been spoiled soon anyway, if you pay attention to any advance tv listings...an upcoming episode is titled "Supergirl."

Chloe's leaving was not a spoiler because they mentioned it last season and was all over the national press. As far as Kara's returning, even an episode title doesn't mean much, as we've seen a "faux" Supergirl earlier in the series, and in the comics there has been more than one Supergirl as well.

If it's something shown in the "upcoming episode" previews or plot point that's something we don't like to give away here. If that continues to happen that will just drive people away, myself included. That was a completely unnecessary spoiler.
Both are spoilers unless they said in the show that Chloe was leaving (for some reason, very little of last season remains in my memory). Even episode titles are spoilers.
Well it was posted in last year's thread that Chloe was leaving. But as I said it was hard to miss because it was all over the national press, even TV and whatnot. When Lex left it was the same thing. But plot-points are a no-no in my book.
For future reference, how prevalent something is in the press doesn't matter.
Then it's going to be very hard to discuss things in this thread. Spoiler tags would be fine wouldn't they? The Chloe thing was a long running topic in last year's thread, and it was assumed that anyone who read it knew what was going on.
Spoiler tags are fine. Everything is fair game if it's tagged.
I don't mind spoilers and seek them out sometimes... but I try my very best not to spoiler anything that hasn't aired yet... and if I'm unsure, I use the spoiler tags.

As far as spoilers go, I was just curious about the difference in the two so far in this thread, because they kinda seemed like the same level of spoilerocity (my new word for the day) to me. IF I was against seeing spoilers, reading about a character leaving would be about the same as reading about one coming back.

One was a plot point in an upcoming episode, the other was about a main character leaving (which was announced last season anyways). The former wasn't well known (at least I didn't know and I don't generally seek these things out), the later was.

HDMe and CP are right. As far as spoilers go, they're both on the same level because neither happened on the show. I don't seek these things out either and only knew about them because of the thread for last season.

In any case, being the final season, is Kara's return really that much of a spoiler? Wouldn't you think that it would happen anyway? I think it's as much of a spoiler as the fact that Personally I don't really think that that's a spoiler either since it's something we've all assumed would happen, but...meh...

Any article pertaining to season 10 talks about Kara's return. The trailer promo for season 10 has a shot of Kara flying away.
And thanks for that. You guys are exactly the reason why I don't participate in TV show threads anymore, and it looks like Smallville will be no exception. Goodbye until the end of the season.

Sorry to see you go, Dave. I think most if not all knew about Chloe, but not about Kara; I know I've yet to see any S10 trailers. I personally assumed Vandervoort was too involved in V to make any more appearances.

As soon as they show that as part of the previews following the show, it will no longer be considered a spoiler.

Does it really spoil anything to know that supergirl is coming back? It doesn't give away any plot points... its not like we thought she was dead or something. Also is it a spoiler that Lex won't be back (the actor)? Is something NOT happening a spoiler? If so then what fun is even having a season 10 thread at this point?

Spoiler rules are set to keep it simple. If we go by what each individual thinks is spoiler worthy, we'll never have a consensus.

If the only thing to discuss about a show is things that didn't happen on the show, then the thread will likely die off anyway.
I almost hate to bring it up... but I wondered why we needed a new thread, and weren't just continuing with the existing thread. I didn't think typically a new thread was started for a new season.

Won't it be nice, though, when the show is actually on and we can talk about that instead
post #23 of 594
Actually since this thread is about speculation about the new season I would expect spoilers to be only necessary for inside information.

Just my opinion.

To Play Lois’ Mom In The Final Season Of Smallville: http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/09/...cher-lois-mom/. "Smallville" giving "Chuck" a run for its stunt-casting money.

I'm sorry, but I've read not a single spoiler in this thread. If those are spoilers, then do not go to IMDB

There are individual threads for the last four seasons; didn't know there was a rule..

Easy, if something hasn't aired and you want to post it, use spoiler tags. If it has been mentioned in print, sand, or a plane with a banner but has not aired on tv, you still use a spoiler. Once it has been aired on tv, no spoiler tag needed.

I agree, I doubt I will visit this thread anymore as I don't want to ruin the season for me. Kinda like the post http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...9#post19230789.

Just because it isn't a spoiler to you doesn't mean it isn't to someone else.

The definition is firm. Use spoiler tags for anything that isn't in the show or the previews immediately following the show. Once it airs on the East Coast, it is fair game.

Posts with untagged spoilers will be deleted and repeat violators will be banned from the thread.
I don't post spoilers myself even if I read them elsewhere... I just found it odd that at least one person complaining about spoilers had in fact posted what I thought was an equal spoiler-like post... so I was confused.

As for the new thread for each season question I pondered... I was just curious because I'm in some other discussions on here that have a single thread for all existing seasons (i.e. they don't start a new one each year).

I don't care either way... but I just wondered out loud.

At least tomorrow night we'll have a new episode airing to talk about later!

Well cant wait to see how it ends.

Started watching this show when it began, stopped for a few years, back the last 3 seasons.

I miss Lexx
