Yes it does. I just read it in the Operating Instructions booklet:

2D->3D: Allows you to transform normal 2D image to
3D image (p. 62).

Just out of curiosity, has anyone seen Panasonic's newly instituted 2D>3D conversion in action? From what I've read the algorithms used by Samsung and Sony yield pretty similar results and I'm wondering if Panasonic has improved the process at all.

I'd bet that they just licensed the tech from the same company Samsung and Sony did.

+1 some people are buying one or the other just based on this one feature.

On my Samsung PN63C8000, 2D>3D isn't anywhere near as good as native 3D but depending on the material it can add additional depth to the image. I've had a lot of fun playing around with the feature on BluRay movies and videogames (it works really with with Halo: Reach BTW).

Saw it today, and wasn't overly impressed, which is why I didn't buy it today.

However, the store didn't spend any time calibrating it and after reading a few reviews, I figure that at the very least it might work for upconverting some PS3 games that the kids like, so chances are that I will still get this model over the VT series.
