Never mind. the scrolling message says that you can disable Bronze Assistance in table tennis, as well as something to reduce server dependencies to handle more players.

Did anyone see Sony's statistics with Sports Champions? It claims the longest drive in Disc Golf is 525 meters. How could that be possible, especially when (afaik) the longest course is Rocky Ridge at 705 feet?

Good catch. Must be a typo. Or someone overshot by a lot.

I seriously wanna petition for a whole new set of disc golf courses! I'd pay like $10 for a new set of 18 holes. Game is so good but needs more content!

It's funny that way. For games that I'd love to buy game play content DLC for (GoW3, Sports Champions), they don't offer anything. For other games I care less about they have more content up the wazoo. LBP has done a nice job though I must say.

Yep, I agree.
I commented on their blog about the 525 meters, though it didn't get a response to that particular fact. I would think that even if it was possible, overshooting would be considered out of bounds. Oh well. What's the most anyone here has thrown? Mine so far is 473 feet. (so really, 525 meters = 1722 feet?!)

I agree on the DLC. I'd throw down money in a heartbeat for all-new courses.

What--you guys aren't satisfied with the Dead Guy Pack?

I'm hoping to finally get into the Disc Golf when I get home.

Well, I'd hoped to do it yesterday, but there was that whole Tree-Falling-Over-Taking-Out-Power-Lines thing to deal with, instead.

Gave it another try and beat the Robot in Table Tennis, he seems to make a lot
of mistakes, especially in the first set (11-3), so just play normally, if you can
smash, do it, otherwise don't take too many risks and he'll give you the points.

I have an idea how it could be accomplished, remember the Ice circular level?
Imagine your disc just rolls A LOT after the throw, this could account for a very
long distance!!

^^^ An idea so crazy, it just might work.
178 Platinums...I can believe it. I should really pick this back up. I've been buying so many games lately, I have two that aren't even opened
post #136 of 148
And METERS? Even on the circular ice level, I think rolling the whole thing would only be about 700' or so. I could believe 525' as the record, that'd still be an insane throw.
Hmm, I can see the ice thing working for distance, but I also doubt that the whole length is 1700+ feet. Just for my own sanity, I'm going to assume the record is 525' until proven otherwise. BUT I still wonder if there's any course that actually has the *space* to throw it that far w/o being out of bounds.

If and when I can find a second Move controller to buy, would I be able to play 2 person table tennis, or is the camera not wide enough to capture both players at the same time?
Yup. Shouldn't be any problems with 2 person TT - I've played from 6ft and from 10ft, and no issues either time.

Move controllers are in stock at SonyStyle.com website. Shipping is free but there may be tax, depending on where you live.

Have you guys played all the way through the table tennis challenges?

Man, I'm getting all I can handle on the silver level. Not sure how I'll be able to win on Gold.

Any tips? I try to hit pissrods whenever possible but half the time I belt it right off the table. Those returns that go right up the middle always eat me up.

How are you hitting it?

I pretty much to angled shots to put top spin on the ball (like lots of top spin), and most of the hits end up as slams.

The complete opposite of how I normally play with a real paddle. But, the computer seems to be able to return my bottom spin hits really easily, no matter how much bottom spin I put on it.

I've tripled starred every opponent through Gold. Yeah, top spin and power shots at key moments work really well, but also placement of the ball is important. Each TT opponent has specific weaknesses, and I was able to get through them all by figuring them out and exploiting what they can't handle well. For instance,

For instance, I think I recall that Gold medal champion Kenji has a poor backhand, so I kept tagging him with aggressive top spin power shots to his extreme left side. Note that sometimes you have to lay off just to keep the ball in play, but as soon as he is on the defensive by making him protect his weak side, it is hard for him to come at you with his own tricky attacks.

I only have the final robot to defeat and I'll be done with TT. I need to go back and play him and other SC challenges once I complete more of my backlog titles (finishing up Dragon's Age right now...).

Am I alone in pulling this off the shelf since the start of the summer Olympics? I played a whole series of archery and several games of beach volleyball so far today - two events I didn't do more than dabble with in the past.

I three starred almost everything in table tennis back in the day as well as played a lot of frisbee golf and half of bocce ball and gladiator.

This weekend I'll fire it back up to see if I'm still sharp in Table Tennis. Thanks for the reminder.
