Seeking help fixing my Sony LCD Projection TV

Hi, I'm new to the site but was referred here by a knowledgeable friend. I'm relatively ignorant about TVs, but I'm having a problem with mine and would love to find a way to fix it myself rather than purchasing a new one.

It's a Sony LCD Projection set, model KDF-42WE655. Manufactured in 2005. Never had an issue with it, but the other day I turned it on with this result: the central indicator light flashes green 5 times, no display whatsoever, then the green light becomes red and blinks 10 times. It then pauses for a few seconds, and blinks red 10 times again, on a cycle. Never get any kind of display. The Lamp indicator light does NOT come on, so unless there's a problem with the indicator light, I don't think the bulb is bad.

I tried the basic things I could think of; unplugged for a while and tried again, same result. Took off back panel to blowdry dust out with cool air, got a lot of dust out but no change. Checked connections, as best as I could, everything seemed fine.

Is this a common problem with this set? Am I simply doomed? If this has been addressed elsewhere on the forum I'd really appreciate a link, I wasn't able to find it with my searching.

Thanks for reading, and for any help/suggestions you might be able to give.

Have found sometimes with a 10 blink error on this set that on the G1 Board
Q1600 and Q1601 can be shorted. Also R1614 and D1605 is open. If that is the case, then easy fix. If not, you have a bad Qbox. It runs about $300 if you can find one. Good luck to you.
