Running Wilde - FOX HD

Didn't see a thread and REALLY liked the first episode. Interesting premise and it had some hilariously clever moments (some reminded me of Better Off Ted) and interesting characters. Plus I've had the hots for Keri Russell for years. I think it has potential and will continue watching.

This really surprised me. Thought it was really good. I am wondering how long they can keep it fresh but as Keri seems to be the only sane person on this insane show, it should make for some entertaining moments.

Much agreed.

This was a show I was really betting on hating. But, the pilot worked for me. The big thing is that the show doesn't dwell on its corny and completely incoherent plot, and instead just goes after jokes with reckless abandon.

Will Arnett seems to be going all-in. That does a lot to sell his character, who is at once unlikeable yet strangely spot-on about a lot of things.

Yeah I liked it too. I read reviews that said it wasn't funny and it should be the first cancellation. That's why I don't take reviews very seriously.

I immediately understood that this series was the US version of Jeeves and Wooster, a much superior BBC production starring Hugh Laurie which lasted for 23 episodes from 1990-1993. That series in turn was based upon the novels of P.G. Wodehouse. Wodehouse's works (suitably altered for a US audience) were also the inspiration for the Arthur movies starring Dudley Moore.

Unfortunately, they only copied part of the formula. I am predicting half a season or even less for this series, I consider it the weakest of any of the new programs that I have seen as of yet in 2010.

After that happens, anybody who even half liked this one should rent Jeeves and Wooster on DVD, NetFlix has it.

The show reminded me a little of Pushing Daisies without the fairy tale aspect. There were some funny moments, but as of yet it is not a laugh a minute show. Although there is something funny about a grown man on a small horse.

It's too early to tell on this one. Most of the show was setting up the situation and introducing the characters. Plus it felt a lot like Son of Arrested Development with the narration. But a promising start.
I thought this was pretty awful. Why did they make this instead of continue Arrested Development?

Horrible show. I absolutely loved AD so I figured I'd give it a couple weeks to grow on me but after the first 10 minutes of ep 2, I deleted it and the series from my DVR. Probably one of the unfunniest things I've seen on network TV in a while.
ya the second episode was pretty awful. you guys should check out the other new show Raising Hope, that is pretty funny actually.. especially their whole white trash lifestyle, very malcolm in the middle like.
I loved AD so I thought this might be worth watching....finally viewed the pilot off DVR last night....deleted the rest of the episodes without watching. Tonight we can premiere Raising Hope off the DVR and see what it's fate will be.
Raising Hope is a keeper, so far.

Guess I'm alone in loving the zany humor of Running Wilde ... last night's Renaissance show was pure lunacy. And I still have unrequited lust for Keri Russell...
Well, don't get too attached to the show. Last night might be the last one you'll see...

The next episode "Mental Flaws" is on the schedule for next week, Tuesday 11/16 at 9:30 pm, with the encore on 11/21.

You state that as if it is fact with an attributable/reliable source but offer none other than a sarcastic smiley. Could you please take time off from your lofty attitude to link to a reputable source? Here's the latest news I found as of late this afternoon ---

I'll admit production has apparently ceased - but official cancellation has yet to be announced --- other than by you....

All I can say right now is that I am in the promo business and there has been a change of plans...Would you like to bet big money on this?

Sez you then. Until I see an official press release I am officially in denial ... if/when the sad news is officially released you can then say "neener neener told you so" ---- officially.

I liked Will Arnett in AD, and thought I'd give this a shot - watched the first episode, it was "OK" - as in I've seen worse first episodes where the series actually succeeded. I was going to watch another episode to see whether its worth keeping as a season pass - but sounds like that might not be necessary.

I also watched an episode of the new show from David Cross (another AD cast member), "Todd Margaret" - that one didn't hold my interest very long, wonder if it will get the axe too.

Oh well, back to cartoons for me, the one TV genre that doesn't disappoint.

I like Running Wilde. It is really funny to me. Raising Hope just irritates me (the only characters I can stand are Hope, her dad, and the girl at the store). I like all the characters in Running Wilde.

Well, it's been pulled!
The problem I was having with the show is the lead actress just did not hit the "so sexy she is worth the effort" test. I could not see why Wil Arnet's character would devote so much of his time to the pursuit of her. It is a shame because I really liked the rest of the cast.

Latest news as of noon today is that it "may" be replaced with a Christian Slater show -- and states --- "For now, "Running Wilde" continues to air Tuesdays at 9:30pm/8:30c on Fox."

I just heard that FOX is airing a back-to-back "Raising Hope" next Tuesday...no "Running Wilde." I'm still up for that bet...

Blame me for the cancellation. I finally pulled the series link after Tuesday's show. I'm a fan of Arnett's. But it just wasn't working for me.
