What receiver to use for a pre pro to go with emotiva 7 channel amp?

What receiver will work best as a pre pro to go with emotiva 7 channel amp? I'm looking for the best value receiver out. how much do I need to spend and what would you recommend.

The Denon 4311 allows you to shut off the internal amp, might be a good choice

Yamaha has some affordable models with pre outs. I think Onkyo does too.

if I went with the Denon 4311 I probably wouldn't need a separate amp. I would like to go with the emotiva amp $700 and a receiver for $600 -1000.

I would look at the entry level AVRs that offer preouts. Then go from there to see which ones from Denon, Marantz, Onkyo, Pioneer and Yamaha that have the features you are looking for. Many good choices in your price range
