I have one of the old fat PS3's and can't play my Monsters Vs Aliens 3D blu ray on my PS3. Does anyone know if it's possible to make a 3D .MKV file of the computer to play on my Samsung pn58c8000?

I had issues with my ps3 as well. I also have a "fat ps3" I picked it up at it's Initial launch. Fool around with the settings. Im not sure how I did it but I did something to where it said "Your Ps3 has detected a 3d tv and can now play 3d Blu rays". So just look around in the video settings

Yes, its possible. There are many MKV's in side by side on this disc on Usenet. YOu could make your own but it takes a ton of HD space.

just give the Sony ps3 customer service reps a call, they will work it out for you.

there is a toll free number available; not at home at the moment or I would give it to you.

I was asked to pass this info I received by PM:

Hope all is well. I'm with Samsung's Weber Shandwick PR team.

There have been a few posts in the 3D Central forum about playback issues with some Monsters vs. Aliens Blu-ray discs on some Sony PS3’s . We know people are eager to enjoy this 3D blockbuster movie at home, so we wanted to give you a heads up that Samsung will offer consumers a free replacement disc while we investigate the matter. Consumers can visit www.replacemydisconline.com to sign up for a replacement disc.

Thanks,
Garland Harwood

Thanks Mark. Since I have a Samsung 3D player I guess I won't worry about it not playing on my PS3 slim. Might get one back that will play on the PS3 but then won't play on the Samsung (lol).

if there is a better place to post that could you give me a link?

So.

Are you exchanging the disk or do you get to keep the old disk?

MVK question. What are you guys using to convert SBS MVKs to play on your PS3? Before 3d I used MKV2VOB (which worked perfectly) but have had issues with converting SBS MKVs lately. Some files work, some strutter, some don't have audio and some black screen...

Does anybody have a way to successfully convert SBS MKV files to play on your PS3?

I know all about PSM to stream MVKs but was having issues with that as well.
