Pioneer's Speaker Genius Hits Low Price Point - Page 120

Would be very interested in pioneer speaker with coaxial driver at a slightly higher price point than the current budget line. I would like tower speakers with some bass extension so I could run 2-channel audio for music.

Guess which speakers are in Audioholics' "$2,500 Recommended 5.1 Surround Sound System".

If you guessed SP-FS52, SC-C22 and SB-BS22-LR, then you would be right.

If you also guessed that even with these budget speakers there is no room for an inadequate sub and picked the new SVS SB1000, then you would be even more right.

If you don't want to read the article but are wondering what happened to the rest of the money, then they go on to waste it on overpriced cables and power protection.

what comparably inexpensive hangable small side speakers would work well with Bs22 and CS 22 front ? Something I can hang 3 feet above ear level as my sidewall is only 4' or so from my furthest left chair and as such having the sides at ear level tends to overpower the fronts. Seems like the bs 22 would be the logical choice, however it would be tricky to hang on the wall.

I've been real happy with these for side surrounds in a similar situation w/ a 10' wide room.

I have them hung just over shoulder height (I'm 6'5 so that's high) so that I can walk past them without bumping into them. The diffuse surround effect makes an appreciable improvement and, aesthetically, the finish is a perfect match for the pioneers.

The compromise for that low profile is that they will need to be crossed over higher than the bs22's.

Too bad there isn't an AJ Pioneer bipolar/dipolar...hint hint.

If I use the bs21's for surround with the bs22's in the front and the cs22, will that be fine, or should I buy different surround speakers? Would there even be comparable surround speakers for $50?

Does anyone have the full 3.1 front set of these (SP-BS22-LR, SP-C22 and SW-8MK2)?

I've been trying to decide these and other options, such as the Energy V-minis, Polk RM6750 setup or the Polk Monitors with a CS2 center and BIC F12 sub but some real user feedback on the Andrew Jones would be great.

I have the bs22 and cs22 fronts and a bic f12 sub as fronts and (for now)old klh small side surrounds. Sound fine too me. I really like the cs22 center. The klh sides have a 3" speaker and their crossover is at 250.

What didn't you like about them?

C21 now out of stock on newegg. Hopefully they sell the new series with similar discounted price.

I just saw the Jamo S 426 HCS 3 is onsale in Amazon. the price is so attractive.

Is there big difference between the Jamo and the new Pioneer sets?

I've got a pair of S426 towers that I am using as surround. They sound good. I got them on sale at Fry's for $87 dollars

I just ordered a pair of SB-BS22-LR for my surrounds. Do any of you know of a universal speaker stand that works with these? Pioneer support said they "dont know of any". LOL thanks Pioneer.

No, they are not. That's according to Pioneers product brochure.

Well that really sucks, I really wanted to make these work. can anyone recommend me a bookshelf around $200 that i s shielded

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I dont think magnetically shielded speakers are needed anymore if used next to led/lcd/plasma tvs. Even back in the day with tube tvs, it took rather large magnets right next to a tv to see any problem.

FYI- Best Buy has the FS52 on sale this week for 100 (each). Amazon has center Channel for 70, Tiger Direct has book shelves for 90. Best Buy price matches so its not too late for Santa to hook your family up!

Those are great prices! I got the whole set (minus the sub) on black Friday and they weren't that cheap.

I've read elsewhere that someone turned his fs52s upside down and set them on a low bookshelf. He set them upside down so that the tweeters would be at ear level when he sat in a chair. Neat idea, not sure how the 3 other speakers sounded being at around 4'-6' high. Anyone else try this?

Do you know when the BB sale on the 52s ends?

Maybe call bestbuy, I think they're open until 10:00 pm tonight, got an hour to go. They were on sale yesterday but a new Sunday ad came out today so who knows.
