Now's the time to return it and save up for a decent sub. If this and all the other folks who have given this advice in the thread don't persuade you, then consider the Monoprice 12" 150W sub on sale for $88.94, discussed elsewhere.

You can often get good deals on used subs on Craigslist and AudiogoN (where I bought two SVS SB-1000s for $325 each).

The Receiver has 2 "Sub Out" and the Subs have 2 Inputs L/R Would it be overkill to have the bass in "Stereo"; I'm thinking of picking up another sub.

The two RCA connectors on the receiver are effectively wired together, so there's no point connecting one sub to both. Subs with two RCA connectors for inputs can often get a stronger signal if both are connected, e.g. with a FMM Y adapter.

Also what do you recommend to mount the speakers to the base so they don't move or fall off?
That's what I use. Love Monoprice!

Probably not yet, although you KNOW Andrew's got a few ideas.. I would think that Pioneer would want to have both the Sx1s and the Sx2s cleared out first.

My 2 local Best Buys said they would only price match if the store was in the same market...... I said wtf just price match Frys.com ...... no go ....
I talked to the manager at my local Best Buy, and he told me they would price match as long as 1) The add didn't say "IN STORE ONLY," and 2) IT WOULD SHIP THE ITEM(S). biggrin.gif I guess every store is different.

Yes!!!! Unfortunately all the NorCal Fry's are already sold out so I'm driving to SoCal to get em biggrin.gif

The Pioneer speakers are nice speakers - just for some info >>
For the few who may be interested - Dennis Murphy of Philharmonic Audio, and who also does crossover
work for Salk Sound - has done a mod for both the BS22 speakers and the C22 center channel. > They do
measure good, and I did audition the modded BS22 speakers - they are really nice.

So the mid doesn't apply to the FS52s?

He has been working on that - the FS52 is a complex design and more of a challange to mod. I do not know how
it stands at this time. > Also, it comes down to cost and time for him to do the mod, he does not want the mods
to be real expensive. The speakers with the mod comes from him >>> those modded BS22 and C22 DNA Pioneer
speakers only cost a little more than the list price.

It would be awesome for the FS52s to be modded out. I'm currently upgrading my speakers, and even though I don't really like the Pios for movies, they are sound better for music, which is what I am looking for. My current Polk Audio Monitor 70 II and 25c center are too bright.

I was thinking of buying the Empteks, but if I was to buy Pios FS52s all around, I would be able to buy a the SVS sub for $700.
Amazon has the C22 for $69.99 too. Thats $190 for the front 3.
Insanely hot deal! The 52s usually on go on sale at Fry's so they're a bit YMMV but $59 @ Amazon is more of a grab 'em while you can type deal!

He is working on the FS52 for someone at Audio Circle, Dennis does not give up easily - however it has to both, be cost effective and
sound good. Dennis likes detailed sound that is smooth, open and clean > he is a musician and plays in an Orchestra.

I'm at Best Buy right now and they did price match Amazon. They got hung up on the "-LR" at the end of the Amazon model number, but the model number under Anazon's tech specs does match Best Buy's so watch out for that
post #4913 of 5336
Wow, $60 for the floor stander, just bought a pair!
CHanged while I had them in cart and clicked to checkout. Wow.

Word spreads quick in these forums. They probably didnt want to sell all of them at that price.

Right--the 52's are much harder to deal with due to the wiring of the woofers. But I haven't given up.
I've decided to go with the Arx.
