Do i need a router for my new PS3?

I have a Samsung HDTV using TWC and also in the living room is my PC with monitor connected with a broadband modem. I watch TV and use my PC at the same time. I am buying a PS3 in 2 days and wondering the best way to connect the PS3 to the TV while being able to connect the PS3 and PC to the internet while keeping my PC and computer monitor connected. My TV has WiFi and Ethernet. Can this be done with a wireless router? I basically want to use my TV with Cable, the PS3, and also use the HDTV as a computer monitor while still using my PC monitor.

A router's job is to take the internet connection from your cable/dsl modem and share it between your multiple internet ready devices. Given that you want to share internet between a PC, PS3 and TV, then yes, a router is what you want to go out and buy. If everything is in the same room, then some cheap $30 Belkin that you'd find at Target would do just fine.
