'Blue Bloods' on CBS - Page 7

I'm confused about this weeks BB. Like almost all episodes it was great but what confuses me is the subject matter(9/11) and the fact that they were watching the NY Jets on TV. It's almost like this ep was meant to be broadcast near 9/11 and not February
I looked at the episode number and it gets weirder. This weeks ep was "The Job" #213 but Wiki says Feb 3rd's ep "The Job" was supposed to be ep 212
Anyone know why this episode is out of order? On Tribune next weeks ep shows #212 "Leap of Faith" and the following week "Parenthood" #214. Somethings just not right.....

I mentioned earlier in this thread, "Due to about a gabillion reasons, the episodes are not always aired in the order the scripts are written . Gabillion is a technical term referring to a number much larger than 12".

Post Production concerns often play havoc on the order of the episodes airing.

BTW I thought it was a great episode too.

Very good episode for Tom Selleck, really showed a lot of emotion. What really kills me is Donny [Danny] just chewing through scene after scene. He has done some great shows, Band of Brothers he really stood out, but here....Come on!! Just my opinion of course....

I am going to come to Donnie Wahlberg's defense. Yes, Wahlberg's performances are hotblooded and passionate but Danny is a hotblooded and passionate guy. Danny is often portrayed as his own worst enemy because of his precipitous nature, so I think Wahlberg's performances are faithful to the way his character is written.

I agree that Selleck was particularly wonderful in this week's episode but he is never less than terrific.

Danny & Bridget acting like Jet fans - THAT's Emmy level acting!

Ironic since when that was shot no one knew who would be in the Super Bowl!

Last week's episode was outstanding.

I found Friday's episode to be very odd. They have Frank involved in a part-time romance with a reporter lady even though he was involved with a different one for part of last season. Then Jamie's undercover work comes back again finds himself in weird situations, it was almost like two different shows. I have a feeling that Biannca gal will wind up dead and he'll get pinned for it because he left finger prints on her gun.

Margaret Colin Grampie's romantic interest is over 5' 10", towering over the cop sons. For a busy guy he gets around.

Just wanted to bump up this thread again with the season coming to an end. Overall, another excellent season.

I agree, it's one of my favorites and Tom Selleck is a major part of that.

BB is a comfort food show. Nothing spectacular or innovative in the least but very comfortable watching. Love Danny busting the perps.

Thoughts on last night's premier? I must say I was a little disappointed, at least the part with Danny and the ex-con. The part with the bomb was just goofy. The guy can't see them. Why not just sit it down and go get him since he told them where he was? The other storyline was just okay.

Or how about just chucking the bomb over the walkway out of the way of people?

Yeah, we said that too. Not as good a premiere as I had hoped.

Remember, Danny is a Wahlberg. Explains it all.

Agreed. Maybe the writers are still on summer vacation. Like the series but this episode was a logical disappointment.

I think Blue Bloods may have just jumped the shark. It's never been a top tier show, even for network TV, but they had been making small improvements even though last season they got a little "preachy" here and there.

I said the same thing..."throw it into the water!"

Still enjoyed the premier though.

+1
and even if he took the backpack why in the heck handcuff it to himself confused.gif I mean no way to tell if he's actually cuffed it to himself and if he didn't he could throw it at any time smile.gif
post #202 of 299
What was the point of the handcuffs anyway? It was attached to the shoulder strap which can easily be separated.
Besides the fact that he could have tossed the bomb over the seawall, why at the end, didn't the snipers just shot the guy in the head? Were they waiting for him to shot Danny?

I love this show, but from Danny's taking possession of the backpack up until the kill shot was not up to Leonard Goldberg's usual standard. I can only think he was paying homage to The Keystone Kops.

I found Friday's episode to be much better.

Jennifer Esposito has been removed from the show. Real shame, I liked her character.

I, also, though Esposito did her character well. Question is-who's version do you believe? CBS's or hers? I've worked in broadcasting for many years. And, I've seen quite a few times where PR releases did not accurately reflect that which occurred behind the scenes. Hope she can return to the show.

Another question--why does Danny's new partner HAVE to be a female? Will this new partner of the week always be a female? If so, why? Just wondering
post #208 of 299
Of course it has to be a female. Otherwise the Nat'l Assn of Gals (NAGS) would have a hissy fit.

Whalberg will be leaving next. The writers are trying to make him quit by forcing dialog on him where he's forced to appear as a Jets fan (inhumane!) and make anti-Patriot comments. He's a major Pats fan in real life. Where's the UN Human Rights Commission on this?.

His character is straight, they had no choice.
