'Blue Bloods' on CBS - Page 9

Halloween episode aired late because of Hurricane Sandy. Show couldn't be mixed in time to air. Manhattan flooded and no power.

I thought this past Friday's episode was a good one. It seemed a little edgier than other shows from this season.

This season has been such a hodge-podge, I'm having trouble with where this show is going. The first few episodes were okay. The last several were pretty watered down, like your typical Friday night drama. Then Friday's episode was more in line with the first season.

What gets me now is that since Jackie is supposedly on leave and off the show it's like she never existed. Donnie introduces his new partner to his wife and no mention of Jackie. They could have at least mentioned how she was doing.

To what end?  They dealt with her leaving a couple of eps back and had their semi-emotional goodbyes.  Why would they keep bringing it up, especially since the actress has left and is in a name-calling fight with the network.

What an agreeable crowd.

There was no family diner either. That is a first. There was a "couple of family members toast" though.

My Irish ancestry wife gets POed with all the drinking, especially when I say that watching makes me thirst for a wee dram or 2 of a fine single malt beverage.

Seems like the show has finally found its footing for this season. Whereas the first several shows seemed to be all over the place from one week to the next, the last few seem more consistent. But now were back to getting another new partner for Danny.

Does anyone know where Frank(Tom Selleck) is supposed to live? I kind of assumed Queens or maybe Brooklyn but this week I heard that Danny lives on Staten Island so is Franks home also on S.I.?
Searching reviled the home is actually located in Bay Ridge(Brooklyn) which is very close to S. I. but has it ever been reviled where it's supposed to be?

Reviled or Revealed? smile.gif

Reviled = subjected to verbal abuse

Revealed = made something secret or hidden publicly or generally known

Searching more online someone said in one show it was mentioned they lived in Brooklyn, I don't remember but maybe thats the case. Sounds like Archie Bunkers old stomping grounds(Queens) can be eliminated tongue.gif
BTW still really liking this show, probably #2 after POI.

it's New York so reviled is apt.

Damn spell check, indeed! I have lost track of the number of times I ended up with egg on my face because one of my typos happened to be a real word. The computer age is a mixed blessing.smile.gif

Seems like the show has found its groove after a slow start to the season. Friday night's was more like what we saw last season. I haven't been keeping up with news on this show. So I don't know if they had some different writers to start the season and have been replaced or why the season got off to such a bad start.

Danny's new partner seems like a nice addition too.

Well I do not concur. Seems to me the budget must have been cut for the writers. Inane plot, too much "Danny" and his furrowed brow and heavy breath talking... Where is the "kid" brother Cop, rarely on. Look, for me it's Selleck, I'm in, I'll watch. The new partner, what is it with the scarf??? Hope it was a one episode thing. Didn't care much for the short hair either. Let's see how she does....

Another good episode on Friday. I particularly liked the part with Frank and his dad talking about an older brother that died at an early age.

Agree.

I for one would like to have the franchise for supplying the family with whiskey. Sorta like having "THe Cosbys" chow down on watermelon every dinner.
I on the other hand was desiring the cardigan sweater Selleck was wearing at the close.

I agree Ray, according to listing, tonight is a new episode that centers around Danny again..mad.gif

My guess is your complaints have nothing to do with the writers, the problem is no partner for Danny. Major re-writes at the last minute, almost mid-shoot.

Huh? Danny has a new partner, the short haired semi-hot brunette.

I guess she's OK, but I thought there was more chemistry with the short-timer, temporary partner.
