My 65734's lamp went out at 14930 hours, just replaced it with an $85 Phillips unit yesterday.

YMMV I suppose.

That is excellent life out of it. I buy the Osram lamps and I usually get about 4800 hours out of them before they start flickering. I replace mine when they begin to flicker instead of going out completely. Maybe I'll try the Philips next, but I JUST installed my 3rd lamp and STILL have a 4th backup Osram lamp waiting. I'm sure the two used lamps I have are still good for 2000 more hours, but letting them flicker might damage the ballast.

Does everyone just buy replacement bulbs on ebay? I am not sure I want to spend $120 to get one from mitsubishi if they have phillips / osram lamps on ebay for $85. I have a wd-73c9. Thanks.

Both Osram and Philips make fine lamps, just don't buy the $38 Chinese knockoffs.

A couple recommended sellers: Dynamic Lamps on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/shops/dynamiclamps and Nio on eBay: http://stores.ebay.com/neilampsandelectronics
