I'm considering an upgrade of my current Yamaha VSX-995.
Here are the specs:
Power, Min. RMS Output power/ch., 8 ohms MAIN: 20 to 20 kHz, 0.04% THD = 100W, CENTER: 20 to 20 kHz, 0.04% THD = 100W, REAR EFFECTS: 20 to 20 kHz, 0.04% THD = 100Whttp://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio..._u/?mode=model
I have a Kuro Pro 111 television.
My Yamaha doesn't have HDMI so I'm running optical audio connections into the receiver and HDMI on my cable box and PS3 for video into the TV.
If I spend the $800 to $900 for the VSX - 32 am I going to notice any real difference?
I'm really curious to know how everyone is using the VSX-32 with their cable box and Blue Ray player.
Does everyone commonly use HDMI into the receiver and then out to the TV.
Or is it common with this receiver to use optical for audio and HDMI straight to the TV for video.
I was hoping to see a noticeable picture quality and audio difference if I spend all this money.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
