Hey..

I have a benq w500... and its work perfect for me.

But today I went to turn it on and the the light is very dim and I only see the colour green. I put in a new bulb but the same thing happens.

I was wondering what was wrong... and how and what to I have to purchase to fix it... Thank you

Well first, as you've discovered, it isn't the lamp. There is no way a lamp can only give you one color. Now you can have a really dim image from an old lamp, but that's it.

As far as what's wrong, there are several possibilities, none of them cheap. If the menu is normal, the problem is in the input section. But if the menu is also affected, i.e., only green, then the image processor is probably failed. The image processor is replaced by replacing the main board. If the projector is not under warranty then it's probably time to consider a new unit. The cost of repair will probably be more than you want to put into it.

Or you could send it to BenQ for a repair estimate.

Yes, I suggest you calling BenQ for an estimate on your situation.
Is it still under warranty?
Where is your current location?
