Absolutely firm and confirmed shipping date for Epson 8350

Well alrightly then,

After some confusion and small dispute, the word is official (...again...) from the Top. Visual Apex will take delivery of the Epson 8350 tomorrow AM (Pacific) and most if not all initial pre-orders already in their hands will be filled and shipped out tomorrow or Friday.

I myself was told yesterday afternoon by V/A in no uncertain terms that such was NOT the case and Monday was the earliest. I related such here on another Thread contrary to what another intrepid Posted offered up. I think they did that to embarrass me.

I forgive 'em though. Quicker'er is always 'Mo bedder'.

I ordered from PP so I have another week or so I think.

Where did that other thread go anyways??

(BTW - I can't wait to see how those extra lumens perform on my BFLF screen!

Things got a little contentious. Actually not a bad job at timely moderation. It's better left forgotten at this conjecture.

I just received a similiar confirmation from VisualApex. They haven't received the projectors yet, but are expecting them this afternoon. I have tickets to the Bills/Jets game on Sunday but I'll have the projector setup by Saturday! Should I sell my tickets and watch the game on my new 8350??

Wow--I was tracking that thread closely and must have just missed it for an hour or two when it got contentious (so I have no idea what happened). I know passions run high here at AVS but I am shocked that it would warrant the deletion of an entire thread that was clearly popular. The folks should have been banned or suspended, the posts deleted, and we should have moved right along.

My two fils, of course.

Except for pp and visualapex, is there anywhere else selling the 8350 soon?

I'm from WA so i can't buy from VisualApex(9.5% tax), PP won't ship till 10/4.

That's only Monday dude I would rather buy from pp as a reputable dealer.or va but you have tax issue. I've not seen anywhere else list it yet, although I'm sure amazon will soon

Just called and pp said it's probably 7th. Epson will ship it today from CA and they'll ship it out the same day they received it. Just FYI.

Too bad that Amazon is also from WA and has the tax on me.

Anyone know if the old model number mount will still fit this new model. I think the old epson number was ELPHB550??

If it does fit, can you tell me if this mount is flush or hangs down? I need a mount that will drop from the ceiling about 6-10 inches and of course, be adjustable horizontal and vertical.

If it doesn't, any suggestions on an inexpensive model. There seems to be a ton of mounts on ebay but not sure of quality or exact fit to the model, even though they say it does.

Thanks in advance!

They billed me properly for my 8350. I wonder if Texas has a reciprocal sales tax agreement with WA. That would be bad. Of course, as soon as mine arrives I will send the State a check for the sales tax.

Me too actually. I've done a ton of research over the last year, but in the end, this is my very first projector.

This is my second. My first Epson has served me well - since 2002. Still works great, but the original bulb has suddenly gotten dim at 3150 hours.

This is my second proj, first was a panasonic 900u so I am sure that I am going to love this thing.

Your comments kept me from ordering as well. Let me know if they fix the issues with the wrong billing amount. I am in Texas as well.

That must have been a tax thing. They billed me for $1299, spot on. We're in New Hampshire, with no sales OR income tax. The state gets by on vapors ("Live free or die"), and property taxes fund the schools.

It will be interesting to see how this projector stacks up against my RS15. For the price, it looks fantastic, plus, no other projector had the placement range needed for the room its going in.
