It's the best solution I've tried, and it removes all the oil and leaves no residue, trust me... it works!

U can get the residue off with a sharp single edge razor blade or a scraper, ya just have to be *careful*.

Sounds good. I just removed them with a dry paper towel. It absorbed the oil etc.

It is. Only the little girl is in color (Red) and at the end where the actual people bring stones to his tomb.

Paper towel is ok if you want permanent scratches.

Da, I rather use paper towel then a "sharp razor blade scraper", da. What's going to bring more damage? Why didn't you negative comment on that silly idea??

A little rubbing compound and 80 grit sandpaper will get any residue off.

Seriously.

Does anyone have calibrated settings for the 60nx810? Like a calibration that the vast majority agree are correct. It's very hard to go through the 150 pages to find the settings it is very appreciated.
There's a setting thread in the forum for the NX810 series that's far smaller ( because it's newer), and has been kept mostly focused on settings ... You won't necessarily find a consensus, because folks have different viewing environments and tastes toward what they want , but you'll get a few to try out ... As long as you stay in the user menus, you can adjust and set/reset until you find the sweet spot ..and this series has one !!

Has anyone here had this tv (nx810) calibrated by a certified calibrator? I am happy with the picture out of the box but wonder how good it could be. My first viewing of my new 55nx810 was band of brothers on spike hd last week. It was the best image I have seen on any display, I have the blu ray set on the way.

My 2 week old KDL-55NX810 has been used only with the default settings and I am totally satisfied. I tried the Tweak TV settings and didn't see much difference.

Me too! Can't really see the pop! Maybe I don't what know what pop should look like. I also don't see that soap effect, what setting would that be in? My Sammy 7 series LCD look the same or better. Maybe I don't have the setting right. Just have it in standard mode as I always hade my Sammy.

I have a 60" NX810 on order and was wondering if I should get the Sony 3d Glassed or the Xpand glasses.

I tried out the Sony glasses and they worked good in the store. I remember tilting my head with no loss of 3D but maybe I was mistaken. It would really suck if I couldn't tilt my head more than 10 degrees. I also read that the Xpand glasses with skew colors because each set company has their own tinting for their glasses. Any help would be appreciated.

On page 92, you can us this as a starting point. But like mentioned earlier, taste is personal, so just set it to what you like to see.

I just received my 60nx810 and noticed when the TV is turned off there are three vertical black lines off center to the right that travel from the top of the screen to the bottom and one that stops half way. I have a tech coming next week but was wondering if anyone else has noticed this? Thanks in advance.

Why not? Think about it. A blade is so smooth and sharp it'll just scrape off the dirt like a charm. Paper towel is a different story.

polish has very fine abrasives. One should never use a polish on anything with a surface coating, unless of course one wants to remove the coating. Not even going to address the use of a razorblade. If your dumb enough to use one....A silicone scraper maybe, but that would be pushing it also. Check out what really high quality car detailers use. The auto glass in these cars is softer than normal so the cleaners are designed for those applications. A very high quality wax is used on many windows to keep from fingerprinting. ( No not Turtle wax) If you have buildup might try claybar. Me, I'm going with the 'experts' who have already recommended distilled water, or the Monster cleaner, but I'll be using an aerospace approved non abrasive wipe....lol. After all we are high-end kewl here.

I have used the settings thread and lovin the way my NX looks. Though at times the direct TV guide looks fuzzy edged. Figure it's just DTV. I have changed the settings on the box to only the 1080i and 1080p, no longer have the lag when changing channels. Learn so much from this site!!
I used the same settings on my W series, and WOW what difference! Pop Pop Pop!!

U must be from Quebec?. I'm Guessing Pop is the drug of choice in that province? If ya want real pop you take a sledgehammer and gently tap the screen. At some point you'll get a pop. This I can guarantee.

I changed my mind b/c the blades and scraper trick only works on Sammys. Dry paper towels is a fine idea. Preferably using a circular motion and applying enough pressure to remove those nasty oils.

I've had great success w/ my razor blades, haven't tried the silicone scrapper thing but ya really think a single edge used professionally wouldn't just slide between the surface and the dirt?. I thought it was a brilliant idea. Try it and prove me wrong

This TV has 0 POP, read my posts. Don't listen to anyone that thinks this TV is top of the line for PQ.

Only if done properly!!!! To much risk of damage if in the wrong hands!! USe what you want, my method worked. I used blades to clean scum off in bathrooms of our rental properties, algae off aquarium glass etc. But to use that to take off oily fingerprints on a delicate $4,000 HDTV screen, I think not. WHo came up with that funny idea? Oh yes I remember now... And I'm glad i'm putting a stop to that idea right here, right now. And MR. NY, you should thank me for heading off lawsuits against you from the many who might have tried it and damaged the screen.

The best is a micro cloth, no chemicals. Oh that reminds me who is the only manufacturer to provide one for free? Yes my beloved SAmsung, that's who.

Go into the router and look up the 802.11 Mode. It was set to "Mixed 802.11n, 802.11g, and 802.11b" by default. I changed that setting to "802.11g only", and so far, the TV has not power cycled with that setting.

Let those who has this problem know about this...

I'm running a Dlink DIR-655 at home, set to "Mixed.802.11n.and.802.11g" mode, and am not having any TV reboot issues.
My router is running firmware 1.33NA. Haven't looked to see what FW my TV is at. Perhaps there are some combinations that are unstable and causing the problem you have?

TV "POP" is an over used term. "POP" can be achieved in a brightly lit room (or show room) with settings turned up. If in a darker room using settings high enough to get a "POP" effect will cause most of us to have a nasty headache really fast. Im sure it will be a personal preference thing like "soap opera" effect. I'm sure some people really like it and others get use to it. I'm not crazy about it at all!
Wrong! Sure we can stick the thing on vivid mode and get blinded. What I and the minority is talking about is to tweak it to a nice balance to achieve bright sharp crisp colors (pop). The WOW factor I call it. The SAmsung I had delivers that. This Sony does not.

NOw the settings on post #4502 provided by gdog are great at getting this TV close. Or even just keep it on standard. BUt close does not give it top billing as many here seem to think.
