Any takers?

I guess that depends on when they are shipped and your location. If shipped on Tuesday I should have it by the latest on Saturday. If AS is using FedEx I would think 4-5 days should cover about all of the US from Kansas.

I'm in Puget Sound and AS is using FEDEX so a Sat AM delivery is possible but I'm doubting it especially if the weather turns south.

I'm "partially shipped" as well
I'll join the me too's but with a twist... I ordered the Immersion Box Set and received my shipping notice from Amazon yesterday. Still debating whether to pick up the SACD also.

And yet another "Partially Shipped" here as well. I think it's there way of saying we billed you because my card has been charged... I'd be really happy to receive it by the weekend

The status of my WYWH SACD at Acoustic Sounds just changed to "Shipped" (it was "Partially Shipped" earlier this morning)
Nice, mine now reads "shipped" as well.
I now see shipped as well with a tracking number. Should be here before the end of the week. Really excited about this

For the outrageous $7.50 Acoustic Sounds charges for shipping, it better not take more than two days. The Aqualung boxset from ImportCDs only cost $3.49 for shipping & handling, and that weighs a lot more than a single SACD.

It is rather steep but it is worth it to be the first ones to own WYWH. ImportCDs definitely has very fair shipping rates and disc prices as well.

My WYWH and Art Pepper SACDs show as shipped as well. Can't wait hear WYWH in its 5.1 glory!

Well Bill, it looks like I may have been wrong.
I know hard to believe...
Looks like AS shipping may be 3-day FEDEX as my expected delivery date for WYWH is Nov 10th.
If that turns out to be true, I don't mind the shipping charges.

Bill

my shipping charge is $31 because I live in Europe and the order totals at $86 because I had to throw in another title to meet the minimum order requirement for international customers :-(
With all that money I decided to burn, my card has not even been charged. In my opinion it was a bad decision from EMI to leave distribution to such a small company as AS even if they contracted them for production. I fear that the high price and awkwardness of ordering WYWH from the rest of the world will prevent high sales thus a base for possible future PF releases from EMI on SACD

You see this from the wrong perspective. The SACD is not in the focus of this reissue campaign. Only a few audiophiles knnow about it. The main WYWH product is the Immersion box set, which also includes a hi-rez/multichannel disc (Blu-ray).

EMI doesn't care about SACD. If they would, they would have released the SACD themselves. It's not Analogue Productions who was asked to release the SACD, but EMI who was asked by Analogue Productions if it was ready to license the material for SACD, a small niche product.

This SACD release wasn't a strategic decision by EMI, but just a request by a small audiophile label, who is only the only one responsible for the commercial success or failure of this product.

According to a poster on another forum, AS reported that the pre-orders for WYWH were around 10,000 units.
That sounds pretty good to me.

I agree with Ornette.

The reality is that SACD failed as a mass-market format years ago. Any releases we get these days are going to be like this one - limited production runs from audiophile labels at a cost premium (willingness to pay). I have no sense of the break-even on something like this (particularly since the surround mixing work was a sunk cost), but hopefully 10,000 is enough to spur further releases.
Other people heard from Acoustic Sounds that the number of pre-orders is 6000. Maybe the 10.000 include orders from other stores.

Anyway, it's a huge demand, too much for such a small label, but a good sign for SACD as an audiophile format.

IMHO, unless SACD production capacities are an obstacle, EMI should have included a hybrid SACD instead of CD1 (album remaster) in the Immersion set. This would have duplicated with the Blu-ray, but there is already format duplication in the set (DVD1/Blu-ray). That audio-only DVD seems superfluous too me. Which multichannel fan does not have the ability to play either SACD or Blu-ray?
Is this the quad mix or a new 5.1 mix?
I'm thinking of getting the immersion box set but if this is the quad mix, I may opt for just this SACD.
The Blu-ray in the Immersion box set contains both the quad mix and the new 5.1 mix, while the SACD contains the 5.1 mix.

Some early track listings (still posted on Amazon and other sites) wrongly indicated that the quad mix is only available on DVD (in lossy quality).

I think what this tells us is that there IS demand for SACD/surround sound releases - particularly of significant albums. I do not know the cost of commissioning a surround mix, but if King Crimson are able to do it with sales, I'd guess, significantly in arears of 6 - 10K units, then the future ought to be bright. Sure, we'll pay $40 a pop, but well worth it IMO.

Bring on Animals, Meddle, The Wall, Final Cut ......

Mine has shown shipped for a day or 2 but the tracking number brings up nothing...

Any of you seeing a status when you track it via FedEx?

Couldn't get it to work either, but I wrote down the tracking number then went to the main Fedex tracking page and manually entered it. This worked for me.

^^

Thanks!!! That worked... due to land tomorrow here in SoCal. Comforting to know its on the way. Left Kansas yesterday....

I had the same issue. Just copy and paste the tracking number from Acoustic Sounds to the normal FedEx tracking window. That worked fine for me showing mine will arrive tomorrow. I think I'll call the FedEx Ground facilty in the AM to meet the driver.

Love the disc, hate the packaging My spine is misaligned like a bad book binding. Still, it's friggin' WYWH on SACD finally so I shouldn't complain!

When I received Chick Corea's "Rendezvous in New York" double SACD the digipak spine was squashed. So I hope my WYWH case is not like the one you received or like the Corea SACD. I intend on keeping the WYWH SACD in an almost new WYWH remastered CD jewel case. I'll put the cardboard case aside to keep it in good shape. I did this with the Caravanserai JSACD as the cardboard case and plastic sleeve are mint. So I wanted to keep them that way and placed the JSACD in the RBCD jewel case I already had.

I have received mine tonight, listened already, mainly 2ch SACD.
Well, let's put in this way: everyone has its own opinion and taste.
It did not meet my expectations. Maybe I need to spend more time listening this exciting release.
The 2ch SACD layer (that is my main focus) does not sound detailed, lively enough.
The 5.1 MCH sounds a bit worst vs. 2 ch. To my ears something is missing on this release. Of course everyone has its own opinion; I just wanted to share mine.
I am very sure it is only me, others will have more positive opinion.
I was comparing to several WYWH vinyl transfers to 24/192 kHz I have.
