If Superman can grow a beard, that begs the question of how he shaves. Does he need razor blades made of Kryptonite?

A mirror and his laservision should do the trick. Also it could be that the man of steel has a beard of silk.

Hans Zimmer will score Man Of Steel

This was mentioned by someone a year ago but this is the first confirmation I've seen to date.

Yeah, that's a good move.

Sounds like a dark knight ordeal where clark kent(Bruce wayne) have to find their true purpose before becoming the superhero's they are.

I like it

They just screened the teaser trailer at comic-con... see coming soon website.

No Williams theme. Guess Zacky hasn't seen the Daniel Craig Bond films... Epic fail no matter how good Zimmer's theme will be.

rolleyes.gif Did Batman Begins have to use the Elfman theme? Does the new Spider-Man use the previous theme?

It's a different movie, a different storyline, a new version of the character. It makes perfect sense that they're not using anything from the previous music. Williams theme belongs to Christopher Reeve's Superman. Not this one. Your James Bond comparison is unfair, Sean Connery made more James Bonds than Reeve made Supermans, they had time to establish all the thematic elements, among them the musical ones. And they never "rebooted" James Bond, this character is a special case.

John Ottman's regurgitation of the Williams score was one of the worst parts of Superman Returns.

First stop use words I must use google translate to understand. wink.gif

Second, I thought that was the best thing about superman returns (well almost the only good thing) because it wouldnt be part of the "Donner" universe without the score. I hate when important music is missing in a sequel.

But of course if you reboot a franchise there is nothing wrong with creating a new sound, but im perfectly OK with recycle old scores if the old work It wouldnt be Bond without the Bond theme.

As has already been stated, the Bond franchaise has never been rebooted. It just contunues on with new actors playing James Bond. They can do that forever, never having to do a reboot.

IMO when it comes to the subject of Superman movies, just too much nostalgia ladden emotions for people to have an open mind. For me - looking forward to THE MAN OF STEEL. Even with a putz like Snyder directing it tongue.gif

A somewhat gushing - but heartfelt review of the teaser trailer. It will be screened before The Dark Knight Rises. smile.gif

Lee, Casino Royal is a reboot since it starts from the beginning of Bonds service as a 00. Previous Bonds just changed the actor.

Not as far as I see it. The Craig CASINO ROYALE is a REMAKE of the original 1967 abomination, which is different from a reboot. CASINO ROYALE was the only Bond book made as a spoof at a time when spy spoof movies were in (FLINT movies)

Indeed the movie starts before he is a double-oh, effectively re-booting the franchise to the begining of his career (literally before he became OO7). By comparison, previous Bond films kept to the established events and timeline (e.g., his late wife was mentioned as recently as the Brosnan films). Daniel Craig's character becomes Bond by the end of the film, which is why his signature line and theme music don't show up until then, just to make the message clear.

As you can see, the movie's release date had nothing to do with the novel's publishing date (ie; they were out of order):

Blurry version of the trailer that someone captured at ComicCon:

Better version should be out in a few days (in front of Dark Knight Rises).

The Daniel Craig Casino Royale movie is set in the present day, yet presents us with Bond as a first-time "double-O" agent. It's clearly a reboot that resets the continuity of the franchise. All of the previous movies, from Dr. No to Die Another Day, were officially part of the same continuity. The Bond of Die Another Day had lived through the events of Dr. No, Live and Let Die, The Living Daylights, etc. Daniel Craig's Bond has not.

Although the 1967 Casino Royale movie legally obtained the rights to the Ian Fleming book, the film was based on that book in name only. It was not actually adapted from the text, while the newer film was. Beyond the title, the Craig movie is not a "remake."

Very nice thanks for the link! smile.gif

"Man of Steel teaser turns Zack Snyder into Terrence Malick" - LOL! I'm guessing they meant it as a compliment! I also liked the solemn music, sort of, on the teaser, not sure if it's from Hans Zimmer (though it sounds a lot like him) and/or part of MoS score but it's really cool - a welcome change...

I gotta admit the trailer impressed me.

Seems to be a harder-edged Sup (like Nolan's Bat).
I know this is sacrilege in a lot of circles, but I have never really cared much for Superman. Having seen this trailer...I actually want to see this movie! That's a pretty huge accomplishment for this non-Superman guy.
Its hard to make a believable superman movie since the guy is virtually invincible. That being said this looks ok. Nolans numerous amount of plot holes and just plain dumb directing in DKR has me worried about this movie

Boy, those trailers really make the movie look Terrence Malick-y. They should have renamed it 'Tree of Steel' or 'The Thin Red Cape'.

For better or worse, Nolan's Bat has had a huge impact on the genre.
