Yup, somewhere out there is a casting director who is hoping they don't end up picking the equivalent of George Lazenby.

Adam West.

Wonder if they would consider Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The press release said Batman, not Bruce Wayne, though I know the two are usually synonymous. There have been other Batmans in the comics, including an adult (post-Robin) Dick Grayson.

It would be great if they do consider Joseph Gordon-Levitt that's how TDKR ended. I guess in the mean time we just have to wait and see.

In the meantime sit back and enjoy superman and Batman together in

I am under the impression that Christopher Nolan probably wants his TDK to remain a standalone trilogy - since he's a producer on Man Of Steel, it's going to stay that way. Gordon-Levitt as Batman would link both universes which imo wouldn't be a good thing. I think the new Batman will still be Bruce Wayne, but certainly not Christian Bale, so it's gonna tell the audience that a new Batman film is still possible without Bale and co...

The very last image of TDKR is of Gordon-Levitt standing on a rising platform in the batcave with the words 'The Dark Knight Rises' across the screen. You took that as a sign that Nolan didn't want the story to continue?

Considering the Bruce Wayne chapter is over, moving forward why wouldn't linking both universes be a good thing?

BTW, the hint was already dropped in the current movie: the satellite that Kal and Zod fight around has the Wayne Enterprises logo on it.

On a separate note. With the Warners announcement less than a day old, folks on-line are already having some Photoshop fun:

I took it as a sign that the symbol lives, not that his particular Batman universe should continue. I honestly don't see Gordon-Levitt taking over the role of Batman in the MOS sequel. Nolan's TDK trilogy is done and over now, WB will want fresh faces for the next installments, including the MOS sequel. Of course I could be completely wrong smile.gif

I would LOVE to see Joseph Gordon Levitt return as Batman, but looking at the logo, and taking into consideration the idea that they're wanting to make a Batman inspired by Arkham Asylum Game, I don't think Nolan-verse will continue!
It'll be a very different and new Batman/Bruce Wayne, one who is excessively Xenophobic, maybe?

Luckily, none of you are casting directors.

You want to see scrawny JGL play Batman, next to alpha male Henry Cavill as Superman? Laugh.

Agree. Gordon-Levitt is a Terrible idea to play Batman.

Nevermind the fact that I already said I don't see JGL as the next Batman...

Absolutely. He has shoulders like that of an anorexic woman. He is not the least bit physically imposing. Good grief, can we please have a BATMAN who looks the part? At least Bale was able to pound on the muscle.

Gordon-Levitt couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag.

Have you guys forgot Batman Beyond?? We don't need Bruce Wayne's Version of Batman anymore. JGL is a wonderful actor, and how do you presume that if puts a mask on, he's going to suck? Aren't you assuming things too much, without any knowledge regarding such matter. A talented actor has the ability to portray varied characters and give it his own twist! I'm sure if he becomes Batman he won't sound or act like himself! When Keaton was cast as Batman did anyone expect him to work as Batman, he was known for comedies. But look at what he did!

You guys are acting as if you know how JGL would have acted or looked like if he played the caped crusader, Don't! You don't know anything, so stop deluding yourselves. Never take somebody for granted because that person doesn't look the part. There have been many instances where the skeptics and naysayers were forced to take back their words!

Josh Duhamel. He has the looks, the charm, and the charisma to pull it off, plus, he’s 6’ 4”.

At 32, JGL still looks like a teenager. I think he is an excellent actor and has a bright future, but this would not work at this time. Maybe in 10 years. Maybe after taking roids. Maybe after bulking up like Ed Norton did for American History X. But not now.

How about Ed Norton? Since Marvel canned him why not work for the competition?

Seriously? Josh Transformers Duhamel? The guy is charismatic? Can't even act well! He is not even half as talented as JGL!

As I said- Batman Beyond. Where a Teenager becomes Batman, looked solid! Plus the Batman design was much more scary and youthful. JGL would be perfect for the role, as he wouldn't have to pretend to be a 40 year old!

Maybe Joe Manganiello. He was actually close to being Superman in Man of Steel.

Armie Hammer also seems pretty cool, though mainly for a clean-cut Bruce Wayne.

Although HC did very well in the part, JM is a natural for a Superhero gig.
Built like a sh_tbrickhouse and a good actor too.
He is a regular on True Blood.

How'd you find that pic of me? Thought we had them all removed.
