The choice will still be spot on since Cavill is perfect as Superman and Snyder is directing the sequel which brings in Batman and starts the movement towards the Justice League. Casting will not be an issue. This new franchise is worth untold billions. It should stay dark and intense since this is what being a crime-fighting superhero is actually all about.
It's just my opinion but considering how DKR ended, I see it as a set up and a logical choice that JGL will step into the Nightwing character. While the buzz is that Bale wouldn't do any more Batman/Dark Knight films, actors and directors say that all the time and end up "working something out". IMO, if he agreed to come back, Bale would work in a JL picture in a limited capacity, almost like a cameo. Bring him in at the end of the movie as a "surprise" return as Batman coming in to give that one last push to help save the day and round out the JL characters. That's just me. Otherwise, in a Superman/Batman movie (coming out first), I'm just not sure Bale would work but JGL as Nightwing definitely would.
On another note, after thinking about it, I changed my mind about it all. I want to be excited about a JL movie but I'm just not. I have concerns about it all and I'd rather wait and see something done right than something just done to say it was. I say this because I really wanted to like Man of Steel but it wasn't anything more than ok for me. Sure, if they released another one tomorrow I'd go see it in hopes they tweak it here and there but I'm just not excited about it. And as far as the other characters are concerned, Flash, Wonder Woman, Lantern, I'm just not seeing it all come together in a meaningful way. Granted there's a reason they are making movies and I'm not but I'm just not seeing it all after the initial hype has passed. To me, and I fully realize how much I'm bucking the system with this one, but the only way I can see it all coming about as something original is to basically make a few thrillers with the "alter ego" characters and then come out with the big bad superhero action movie in the form of JL. This way you can really get your characters grounded in good storylines themselves and have it all tie into a solid storyline for the big JL at the end. But that's just me.
