Sharps in general seem to have some of the best scores when it comes to input lag. Unfortunately, this model, the LC-42SB48UT, is known to be a rebranded unit. For starters, this means any buyer of this model has a greatly enhanced risk of the TV dying on them shortly after purchase.
But my concern is the input lag. Since at least some of this TV was not actually made by Sharp, it seems safe to worry that the input lag may not be up to Sharp's pedigree. So I am hoping somebody has this unit and is willing to do the ol' A vs B millisecond snapshot comparison, using whatever mode(s) might provide the best response.
I have some hope that the input lag may be similar to that of other Sharp TVs, because the manual for this unit suggests that the hardware controlling functionality is identical (the same resolutions for PC input, etc.)
Finally, I have already noted that Sharp TVs, including and perhaps especially their more recent models, suffer from perhaps the worst and most guaranteed clouding of any manufacturer. This is bad, because I plan to do a lot of watching in the dark. I don't need extra space nebulae to enhance my movies. ;p Anyway, a pic of this unit showing black while in the dark would also be much appreciated.
