Options for new surround sound setup

I have been looking through several threads and have gotten an idea of what I may want, but I still have to go to Best Buy to listen to different speaker systems to compare.

However, the issue I have is the room that the system will go in. It is a 22ft long by 14ft room. The two main seating positions are pretty much at that 19ft distance from the tv, but a 3 seat sofa is located along the wall that is on the right channel side of the system. The back of the room (behind the main seating) is the kitchen. Due to lack of space, the rear surrounds will go mounted to the wall almost to the ceiling. Oh, and the floors are tile.

The receiver I have pretty much set in stone: pioneer vsx-1020-k
For the speakers, at least by what I have read, I will look into the following speakers.
Front L/R: Polk Monitor 60
C: Polk CS2
Rear L/R: Polk Monitor 30 maybe
Sub: BIC F12 or Bic PL-200 (will go near front left corner)

The two things I'm worried about is the size of the rear speakers and the subwoofer. Since the rears are going to be wall mounted, I want smaller speakers. Are there any others that you would recommend? About the sub, I will keep looking in the sub forum here. I have seen plenty of discussions about those two listed there.

Thanks.

Forgot to add.

TV is usually used for Sports, Movies, and Games. Music is not something that we have done before in this room much.

Since it's a detached house, we don't have to worry about waking up the neighbors

I personally like the setup you got the Polk Monitor 30's are not that large and can be easily wall mounted

For the subwoofer I would lean towards the Bic PL200 its a bit better quality versus the F12

Yea, I read a couple of pages from a thread talking about the PL-200 and have decided that it will provide more than enough thump

As far as the Monitor 30's. If I can convince the rest of the family that the size is not too big, I think I would go for those.

I wouldn't be so quick to pre-select a location for your sub.

For best results, follow this guide to the letter, and don't be afraid to move the sub anywhere in the room:

You're going to like that PL-200 -- I love mine! -- but don't be surprised if you need two of them to fill that very large space. (If the room is open to the kitchen, you need to count that in when determining the cubic feet your sub has to work with).

You may also want to pick up a SubDude to better separate the sub from the tile.

Last, I'd also recommend M70 fronts for such a large space.

Enjoy your system!

The go with the Polk OWM3 http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/owm/ just get the family to spend the extra $100 on them if they are so worried about size

OOOoooo, I think they would probably go for that set of speakers for the surround. I'll mention that to them this weekend.

Regarding the placement of the subwoofer, I have a good area to play with near that front left corner so I'm not worried.

The M70's were nice, but they are too tall for where we were planning to put them. Who knows though, we might end up changing the location and going for the bigger ones. However, I think everyone will be excited by the sound that a real surround sound speaker system will provide. We kind of only have the sound from the TV right now... I know, sad.
