Your going to notice a huge difference when it comes to black levels, color saturation, and the depth of field will look more realistic on the new sets. When feeding the S2 or G25 a 1080p image, the difference will be very obvious, when using a high quality source Like a blu-ray. Cable HD channels? Maybe not. Video games? Definitely.
However, I still have my 60u and I agree, the colors looks much more accurate then any newer S1,S2,G10,G25 I've played around with. Most have said the decoder and color temps are similar, but something is different, you will see. The new sets appear greener in color temp to me, and decoding looks different then my old set. No one has ever been able to explain why! I have a 60u, 80u and S1, and setup an S2, G10.
You will love an S2 or a G25 though. I would spend the extra $200 and get the G.
