Comments Please!

Almost finished with HT Setup. Theater set up in room with open floor plan
( Liv Room/ Kitchen Combo ). I have an 52 inch Sony,( above fireplace) Pioneer SC 27, my mains are 3 def tech xtr 50's ( L,C,R ). MY rears are 2 speakercraft Aim 3 series. I like music and movies equally. Im not able to demo either sub.
Which sub would "fill" my room the best? Which sub could handle frequencies below 20 with "ease"? Ive read the specs on the Def Techs, but some of you in this form say there specs are misleading with there subs.

Thanks in advance

There really aren't many commercial subs that can handle frequencies below 20 Hz "with ease", and the ones that do are generally big. The DefTech that can do it is the Trinity. Martin Logan isn't even discussed for <20 Hz "with ease", so just forget it. You might look into the HSU ULS-15, or the EPIK Empire. Ed A5-350 would probably work for you.

Thanks for taking time out to respond. Ill look into the subs you mentioned.

RE: "Marton Logan is not even discussed", Wow! Really?

Even the Descent i? Ive been told that they're "musical subs" but i was hoping they could handle 20hz and lower.

I was told theres no "one" sub out thats great for "critical" music listening and movies.

Taking a 2hour drive in the morning to demo the Descent i. Figured, if i had to have a 'big" sub out in the open it might as well look good lol

Thanks again

Sounds like something you would hear in a B&M showroom. These days the Seaton Submersive and Epik Empire are getting very positive reviews for music and movies.

You can search Martin Logan and you will find there are some fans, however, Martin Logan just doesn't get much discussion. If you limit yourself to subs you can audition, you will pay more and get less (than internet direct subs).
