output to tv and projector from same source....not at same time.

my tv is on the wall and projector screen comes down over it.

I don't want to "split" my signal to my tv and projector, i want to switch my output.

i repeat, i don't ever want to run the signals at the same time, i just want easy way to change output without unplugging and plugging the tv and projector hdmi.

is there a simple switch that will do this?

the splitter does not seam like the solution i am looking for rather an 'output switch"

I have reviewed much of the threads and they all seem to give solutions for 'simultaneous' viewing capabilities.

That switch should do what you want.

It's the only HDMI switch I know of that will direct one input to two outputs. All other switches will only take two (or more) inputs to one output.

There is a large Marantz switcher with multiple inputs, but it does have multiple outs and does what you want.

By the way, if you don't need audio via HDMI in 5.1, you could just use a splitter and turn on only whichever display you need as appropriate if they support the same resolutions you need.

Monoprice to the rescue

Apparently if you are the least bit technically proficient this switch can be changed to a 1x2, read through the reviews for instructions

To me, saving 11 bucks is not worth the hassle of having to modify the Monoprice unit.

Your original post "sounds reasonable"... however, you might be in for a "surprise". Even though you stated your "requirements", you failed to state your "full" signal path layout of your system. From your "requirements", it appears that you only have one "signal source" (ie. blue ray, or pvr, or sat dish, or whatever) that you want to switch to one of two "sinks" (ie. displays). IF that is truly the case, then it would appear that your choice that you indicated is fine for the job. However, IF you have some other "gear" like a receiver or such that has built in switching to a single output, then your "requirements" are a little more "complex", and it is possible that adding a second switch in the path might not function as expected... just because... while just because you are in wonderful "hdmi land". Not saying that a simple switch won't work, just saying that you need to consider the entire signal path(s) before deciding and even then be ready to accept that you need to do more of "something".
