Anyone excited for Fable 3? - Page 2

Too bad the DLC wasn't free for it. Trying to get back into playing Fable II but not enough motivation atm. Great deal for people that got the queue, good game especially free!
It's weird, I was able to add Fable 2 to my queue yesterday, but was unable to do so for my nephew, seconds later. We both already have played the game, the difference being that, (aside from his initial setup) he is never on Xbox Live. Maybe the free download is a gift to people who have already finished the game?

Edit: Spoke too soon.... Although MS let me add it to my queue, they would only let me download 99% of the game (waited over an hour for the last 1%). When I click on "download again", I am directed to the $34.99 version (yes, it's that much in Canada).

It was a MS screw up.

Xbox Live at times have screw ups that gets fixed in hours. However most of the time MS will honor their screw up and allow the DL to happen. Weather it was free of the GOW II Collectors edition golden Lancer DLC, Fable II free, free DLC for Fallout 3 it was all a screw up that gets fixed in mins to hours.

I'm not liking the idea of having to disappoint people and make tough choices about who I screw over when I'm king, anyone else?

Did anyone order this from Amazon? If so, did you get your code to import the villager that you created?

I pre-ordered it from Amazon on Tuesday, and their site says, "Pre-order Bonus Offer--Design Your Own Character: Pre-order Fable III and Amazon.com will provide you with a code to see a villager you've created come to life in the game. Start designing your character today at www.xbox.com/fable3 and we'll send you a code within 10 days before the game releases."

I'm just wondering if they've begun sending out codes to anyone yet now that we are five days from release.

yes, i got a code, then i got an email saying the first code doesnt work, and they gave me another code.

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/ca...ble-iii/706496

That video is odd. I remember them saying the story starts out that your Mother/Father was the hero from Fable II. A great injustice is cared out by the King/Queen on your family and the Fable II hero is killed and you extract revenge on the evil king/queen and you take over...

That preview has you starting out as a Prince/Princess with your bother as the evil king who carries out an awful order. Which starts off the quest to overthrow him in a revolution with the peasants.

Oh well looks like it'll be a good game (still going to wait for the price drop).

I had always heard you were one of two kids from the Fable II hero. That you were the one leading the life of adventure while your brother was king. And that bro was not very nice.

Never heard that part.

As much as I've been negative about this game in my past post this game does look darn good. Credit where credit is due.

From the launch trailer looks like you'll get a change to take a statue of your brother down as well.

I was going to pick up Fable 3, but I just started Fallout New Vegas and that will take me quite some time. I'll buy it when I'm finished.

I am really curious how Fable 3 is going to be received by the media. After all the hoopla with 2 and then reviewers being disappointed by Peter M not delivering on promises makes me want to wait on this game. I am sure I will play it at some point, but right now it isn't a priority. If reviews are stellar I may bump it up on my play list.

I will be curious how members here receive the game. I hope everyone loves the game so I feel an urgency to play!

I don't recall reviewers being disappointed in 2. I recall it getting very high reviews to the point I was wondering what all the hoopla was about. I mean I liked it well enough until the end but it was't the greatest game ever. I had more fun on my second play through when my expectations were lower (I only remembered I was disappointed in it... Yay for nat like memory!)

Edit: wow on Iphone keypad Knat = Omar. cool.

The key is not to expect the greatest game in the universe. If you expect a decent game, which I expect it is, I've enjoyed all the fable games, you'll enjoy the game. They've never been outstanding. Even if there's a review that says it's so good you should play this game and then kill yourself because you could never achieve anything better than to play this game, don't believe it.

I have it pre-ordered, but also rockband 3, so I don't know how much time I'll put in right away. RB3 is higher on my list.

Yeah, really... Every single time I look into a Lionhead game, the reviews of it are overwhelmingly positive. Then I pick up the game, play through it, and can't understand what all the hype is about. Were the reviewers reviewing the game, or the Peter Molyneux sales pitch? Or is it that my expectations are too high because of all the advance ranting and raving? This goes all the way back to "Black & White".

Even so, I too would be interested to see what the reviews of this latest title say.

^^^LOL. A gamer who knows the industry well. Of course all of those are Bungie games.

I still have not gotten my Villager Creator (or Maker or whatever it is) code. Guess it is time to contact Amazon.
Wow Bungie was way more busy than I thought.

I got the code from Amazon, with the wrong instructions saying to enter the code via the Xbox console.

When I go to xbox.com/fable3 and click on village maker, the page loads but when I click on start designing, nothing happens. Same thing when I try entering my redemption code - nothing. The buttons glow when I mouse over them, and my account/gamertag is signed into Xbox.com. The only thing that seems to work on the Village Creator page is "back to splash page" and the mute sound icon - even the "pre-order the game" link doesn't work!

Anyone get the Village Creator to work? I tried with Firefox and Chrome. I hope I don't have to use Internet Explorer.

Hopefully reviews are out today. Doubt it but would be nice. Warcrow did you get a review copy? Hopefully Peter M liked you enough after meeting him! lol

Follow-up: Tried with Internet Explorer 64-bit (MS Silverlight not supported) and 32-bit... same thing - Village Creator page loads, but nothing is clickable. Anyone else?

I contacted Microsoft to see if they had any idea.

Maybe it will update when the game is released, but I thought the whole point was to create a villager before starting the game?

I finally got my code after contacting Amazon. I went directly to the Lionhead website and created my villager there without problem.

Try this link: http://lionhead.com/Fable/FableIII/

Thanks for that. Turns out the MS site is working now too.

Game arrives today - looking forward to diving in!

I'm interested in what everyone thinks. Right now my time is sunk in Borderlands and FO3:GOTY. It will be awhile before I get to Fable this time around - it'll probably be 40 bucks by the time I'm ready !

IGN's review is up. Gave it an 8.5 and said that Fable 3 is what Fable 2 should have been. Hopefully I'll be able to get it through gamefly sometime soon.

I would post the text, but I can't do that from my phone.
