Bolt 3D Blu-Ray

Just finished watching the opening scene of this disc, and I must say, it's probably the best 3D I've seen yet. Tons of depth, nice but not "too in your face" pop-out, and the detail is excellent.

This is the European version of the disc, so I don't know if the U.S. version will be the same.

Off to finish the rest of it now.

I just picked this up on ebay from China for $66.00 shipped! Couldnt believe I won the auction so cheap..

I think 3D Blu-ray Players play any region at this point

Some of you don't seem to realize you can do directly to Amazon's foreign sites and import these discs for a fraction of the price you'll see people selling for on Ebay or the US Amazon marketplace. Your account info is carried over, it's not harder than buying from Amazon.com in the US. Just scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll find links.

CLASH for $100? I got it from Amazon.de for $44 shipped a couple of months ago.

Postage from the UK is fairly inexpensive, but it's higher from Germany and other countries. All this is disclosed before you place the order.

Damn that is cheap for ebay. I guess every one else is spending all their monies on Alice in Wonderland at $200+.

true but this post is about bolt 3d. taz291819 said he had it and i was woundering if it played in the us and if it was in english. and not all 3d movies that come from over seas play in the us. so when somebody says they have it i want to make shure its going to play and is in english. and sometimes the information they say about the movie could be a type mistake ERA. like my spelling.

If it's from the uk it might be in proper english.
Sorry lame attempt at humor.

Yes, it plays in a Region 1 player, and the first language choice is english, which I am using.

The language selection is actually the first thing that comes up (after the Disney intro), which is how a lot of euro discs do it.

You'll find BOLT 3D pre-orders on Amazon foreign sites too, for far less than the riduculous prices on eBay. Naturally, you have to check into Region coding before you purchase if you don't have multi-region equipment.

I watched this as well this weekend and it was pretty darn good in 3d. My daughter loves this movie. I will not say where I got it from though. wink..wink.

It was a loaner.

The one for preorder on amazon.co.uk indicates it's region 2. Does your box say region 2 also? Just trying to confirm whether or not it will work is US players. I would assume your loaner came from a starter kit, as I don't see it's available in Europe to purchase yet.

The only ones out there are now from Asia, they are Region A and C.

The Europe version you can pre-order is Region B

From my understanding the 1st wave of blu-ray 3D's were not coded for play in specific regions, but they are starting to do that now.

OK, BOLT is my new favorite 3d blu-Ray!!!! This movie is amazing! The 3-D is spectacular! This is how 3-D movies should be made! Depth, pop it has it all!!!! Way better than Ice Age 3, better than Alice and better than MVA!!!

You are constantly amazed at the real feeling this movie provides, even though its animated it really feels likes its real!

AN ABSOLUTE MUST OWN 3-D movie!!!! THIS IS THE MOVIE YOU SHOW YOUR FRIENDS!!!

Someone said they had a European version that played on US players and you can also order the ones on Ebay at online retailers. I just want to make sure I get one that will play on my player.

The one available on Amazon.fr doesn't have any region code, so it seems to work on the US.

I'm thinking of pre-ordering from Amazon UK.

If you only have Region 1 system then let me know if it plays once you get it. It says Region 2 on Amazon UK site so I don't want to risk it. I wouldn't want to risk it ordering from Amazon FR either. If they're from same company and released around the same time, I don't see why they would put region code in one country and not in the other country. Unless that's a common thing...

If you have Region 1 player then let me know if it plays. Then I'll order from Amazon UK.

The french version will play in Region 1 The title says "Volt" (French for Bolt)

The UK/AUSTRALIA version will NOT play on US players, as it is Region 2.

The Chinese or Far East version will also play in Region 1.

I Read about this in another forum where this question was asked.

I'm pretty sure there are plenty of discs that say Region B, yet still play in Region A players (same goes for Region C).

Region 1 and 2 only applies to DVDs afaik.

Amazon UK is not always right about region codes. First of all Blu-ray uses letters, A, B, etc. Secondly I have purchased a few Blu-rays from Amazon UK and they were infact region free or ABC. It is hard to tell just from there site.

Per Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue-ray#Region_codes

Quote:

Some current estimates suggest 70% of available [movie] Blu-ray Discs from the major studios are region-code-free and can therefore be played on any Blu-ray Disc player, in any region.
