Subwoofer Wiring

I have two 12'' pioneer subwoofers with a single 4ohm voice coil each, the max output of each sub is 1200watt. I have a mono-block amplifier rated to 2700watt max output at 4ohms.
how would I hook my subwoofers up so i dont blow a sub or my amp?

Detailed instructions please!

More details and specs needed including the amp's power ratings at 2 and 8 ohms.

If you wire the subs in parallel, it will make a 2 ohm load. If you wire them in series, it will make an 8 ohm load. Check you have an 8 ohm rating on the amp.

To wire in parallel, you connect the positive (+) from the amp to the + on both drivers. You can run two wires that are both connected to the amps + output or you can run a wire from the amp to sub1 then a wire from sub1 to sub2. Then do the same with the negative (-) side. Since your amp isn't rated for 2 ohms, I wouldn't recommend this.

To wire them in series, run a wire from the + on the amp to the + on sub1. Then run a wire from the - on sub1 to the + on sub2. Then run a wire from the - on sub2 to the - on the amp.

When you have more power available than the sub will take, you have to control the gain to keep from blowing the drivers.

Not useful except for the disturbing FR spec.

What is the make and model of the amp?
