If so, can you post a step by step on how to do this. I had try the thumb drive technique method at the other thread (Reference Blu-Ray Demo Disc) and was unsuccessful.

You can't stream a bluray to the PS3. It needs to be on a disc or on a hard drive as previously mentioned.

Yesterday I started downloading from the link using bit torrent and got up to 7.3 GB. Then Bit Torrent gave me a "files missing" error and now it says "The Network Path was not found".

I'm new to torrent downloading but don't think I'm doing anything wrong. Is anybody else getting the demo downloaded okay?

Thanks,
Rod

Is the drive you're downloading it to still accessible?

I've also found a folder on my media server called :-

Home Theater Demonstration Bluray V2.0

With BD content and cover art.

Is this a ScubaSteve "production"?

Yes, that's Scuba Steve's version 2 disc. His older version 1 disc was named differently, I can't recall exactly how. But the resultant discs are pretty similar, except for some differences in clip selection. The background image used on the menus is the same so it should be pretty obvious that the two are related, however.

No one is selling discs. That's a big no-no. You'll need to find a friend to download and burn it for you.

As I understand it, little home-made demo projects are being ignored by the powers-that-be, but if money starts changing hands, the legal departments at the studios are going to come down like hammer, and AVS will cut them off immediately, plus you're on your own with the legal fight.

Please don't screw this up for everyone. NO MONEY.

One big difference is that Ver 1 had music video clips, while Ver 2 doesn't.

Incorrect....I just checked and there're 6 seeds and 17 peers. Far from dead.
thanks for checking.. still not sure what's wrong on my end. My client still says "connecting to peers".
Hopefully you're using uTorrent?
yeah i just figured out the issue.. "error: Problem connecting to tracker - (111, 'Connection refused')"

I'm using transmission on torrentflux. Any way to get it to work besides uTorrent?
Anyone have a tutorial on how go from the torrent site to a finished bluray disk playable on most bluray players?

A torrent is a torrent. As long as your application is configured correctly, it should work fine regardless of client. It's like a website... doesn't matter whether you're using IE, Firefox, Chrome or Safari, you're surfing to the same site.

Sounds like you may have a firewall issue, but check your application's support site to be sure. Transmission is a good app, that shouldn't be the problem. (Note that I do believe uTorrent has a Mac version now, if you decide to try that instead.)

SuperLeo posted a nice how-to in the thread for his demo disc, the same basic steps should apply here, too:

Thanks. I've used transmission for years, but it failed for some reason with this file. I just downloaded utorrent and it started up just fine. Weird...

Thanks very much for your question. I had thought that the error message referring to "Network" meant the Internet, not my network. Anyway the computer the drive was on was off for some reason.

I now have it all downloaded and just need to figure out what to do now to get it in a playable form for JRMC on our HTPC. Looks like there's a lot of old posts in the thread explaining things so will do a review of them.

Rod

I use this in JRMC frequently. I tagged each m2ts file with its contents. We can't use the menu in JRMC, so I tagged each file with an album, depending on which category it was in- eye candy, LFE, surround etc.
There is a partial list of the files somewhere and I could send it to you if you want.
If you play the whole disc in JRMC, it will play in a seemingly random order and will not change audio codecs after the first segment, so that's not desirable at all.
I should add that I did all of this for version 1 of the demo disc, and haven't got around to it for version 2 yet.

Cool. Thanks for that...

ok, so uTorrent was downloaded and the download is occurring now. Its been going since Saturday and is only 40% complete! Its going to take about 11 days. Ugh. Is this normal?

Is there any option to get this to download faster?

Is anyone willing to burn me a disc if I ship them to you and pay for shipping in return?

Actually, I am having someone help me out with the download and burn since they have the burner. I will check with him soon as he had to pause the download due to it sucking up his home networks bandwidth causing issues for his work at home wife.
^^^^ yep, we are paused until tonight...will resume downloading tonight, if anyone can seed, we'd appreciate it.
Been seeding for days, thought i should seed at least as long as it took me to download, to give back!
