Home Theater Demo Disc - Version 2.0 - Page 56

For those that have not seen or do not know of this site... Demo-World. It specializes in demo material and demo discs of all kinds.
Most of the time Demo discs are not for sale but for promotional events.

The site has a segment where it reviews all different types of demo discs... I recommend for everyone to go take a look and go over, not only these discs but through others.

You made your own comparisons and conclusions.

I didn't know about that site! Excellent and thank you!

We could go round and round forever. It isn't worth it. I stand by my initial statement that started this whole discussion.

I just started a poll to put together a "Best of the best of the demo discs demo disc."

Your participation is greatly desired.

Can someone post the current active link for version 1?

I tried the link in post 8 but it is dead.

Thanks
Ray

There probably isn't one. Steve's intent was to make #2 an updated/improved version of #1; not many of the files are different.

If you can find it, great, but don't be too disappointed if you can't.

I'm looking for any BluRay demos that I can get. If someone is selling, please hit me with a PM.

Thx

Would anyone be willing to create a Blu Ray Demo disc for me. I do not have access to a Blu Ray burner and can't see spending the money for one for one disc. I would be willing to reimburse for the media used as I know you can't pay for the persons time due to legal issues. You can PM me if so.

Thanks ahead of time.

Blu-ray Recoradble Discs and Region Coding

I was looking in the Blu-ray Disc Demystified book (page 4-18) and discovered that the license prohibits region-checking code on recordable discs. Only allowed on pre-recorded (BE-ROM) discs.

The previously heated discussion about this was moot, as it isn't allowed.

Which is why there are BD9s. superleo's second disc is available in DVD-DL segments:

And now, there's a new one:

Please, my head still hurts from reading that "discussion".

Go grab a copy of the book and read what it says about AACS and recordable discs on pages 4-10 thru 4-12. The region coding issue was easy. This will not only make your head hurt, but spin around, just like in the movie, biggrin.gif

I did two of the BD9's but they keep wanting to lock up on my PS3 (only blu ray player I have). I might try to do another though.

For some reason I'm no longer able to play this demo on my oppo bdp-103 as a folder on a usb key. the other demo work but not this one. I can only navigate the files and play the m2ts files with no menu. Anyone have and idea what the problem might be.

I have a digital cable box hooked to my Yamaha receiver and my out to my 1070. Whenever I switch channels my 1070 looses signal flickers green and it takes like 5seconds to reacquire it so I have to wait in between each channel is there a fix for this..I'm on 1.05

The best thing you can do is set your cable box to output a fixed resolution (e.g. 1080i or 720p). When the resolution stays the same you shouldn't get an HDMI handshake when you change channels.

No, as been mentioned several times in this thread and probably each of the others:

These discs are NOT for sale.

Sorry.

I suggest we change the topic to - Home Theater Demo Disc Version 2 (NOT FOR SALE).
That could probably cut off 20% of the questions smile.gif
