Just voted, also about to order ver1 since I assume ver2 will take a while to master and make so I'll order that as well when it's done.

Thanks for making it 'polled' really ends up with a community driven disc!

You can back up/rip BD on a Mac. Google MakeMKV. Most LG drive will work on a Mac for this as well.

For which, of course, I'd need an LG drive. Easier and cheaper for me to mail the disc to someone willing to do it who doesn't already have the disc.
If, as I say, there's any call for it.

Who uses discs anymore? HTPC FTW! Much faster! I can "swap discs" in just a couple of seconds with a few clicks. Either way, I don't mind.

Michael, I tracked down the dvd and you're right that is an excellent track for the demo disc.

I converted the HD-DVD to Blu-ray, so I'll pm the op and see of he wants me to supply the track.

Thank you for seconding my opinion and for the effort. As it happens, I'm much too stubborn to have just given up.
I found a used xBox HD player at cowboom.com (a division of BB) for <$40. My mac was able to read the files but couldn't do anything with them (as expected). I copied the 16GB (!) .evo file to the hard drive (after several LONG sessions of working [stupidly] off the HD player]). TsMuxR is not available for OS 10.6, so I ran it under XP using Parallels.
After much trial and infinite error, I was able to cut and demux the file (hint: don't bother with the decimal places in the "hours" setting, use the "seconds" setting, instead). I remuxed the two files as BD format and burned a DVD-RW using ImgBurn and it worked in my BDP.
I have the files on a server that Steve has access to, but he said something about being busy with "work" or "life" or something ridiculous like that (I guess the donations from version one weren't enough to fund his retirement), and he hasn't had a chance to try them yet. He may still be interested in yours.
I tried to cut a sample down enough to post here, but the files are still too big. Sorry, folks.

Steve, I was wondering if you could possibly look at putting a section on your disc of clips from movies that are encoded with 7.1 Dolby or Dts. There aren't alot out there right now but I thought for those that have a 7.1 system that might be handy. Excellent high quality project by the way. I will be ordering one of these.

I just had the chance to watch this one 1080P and lossless, and I definitely vote for it to be included. Video and Audio are top notch REFERENCE quality.

I know you don't want this steve, but when I get home everyday, I forget to put this movie in and find the timestamps, BUT, I think we need the sound canon scene from The Incredible Hulk in LFE.

I just got my version 1 disc in the mail(Thanks scubasteve). Anyways the one things that stands out to me is that there is some 3 hours of video on the disc.

It would have been nice to have somewhere to select 30min demonstration and it would run through clips. Jumping from clip to clip.

Basically the inclusion of playlists. Maybe people that have the disc can pip up with their playlist. I'm sure people don't sit visitors down and play the whole thing. Which clips do you play and why?

If there were some go to playlists on the discs so just sit down press play and forget about it. That would be great.

A movie is 2 hours of the same plot driven source. Completely different from a 20, 30, 60 min HT demonstration made up of clips specially selected to show off ones home theatre the entire running time.

Not at all, I just don't agree with them. The purpose of a demo disc is to select clips that you're in the mood for or that suit your audience. Those two components are ever changing, so a static list doesn't make as much sense. There's plenty of non-stop action movies if you just want to put something in and let it play without taking into account the aforementioned factors.

I'll watch clips from V1 then I'll vote.

Steve I definitely like the idea of having an orchestra on V2. I personally didn't care much for the music on V1. Overall though, I love the disc. Keep up the good work!

X3 (Xmen United) scene: Xavier vs Dark Phoenix

Cloverfield, scene: assault in alley.

The Dark Knight, scene: Jokers monolgue in jail/breakout steals police car.

Monsters Inc, scene: Boo laughs for the first time.

These are my suggestions.

Saw your comment (somewhere ) about wanting to stay away from full music clips because of copyright concerns, so "the server" now has a clip of the first 25 seconds of Hole in the World. If you'd like something in between (and can't chop it up yourself), let me know.

I agree we need something from Cloverfield on this version...

OT: I was flipping through the movie channels late at night and saw it listed in the guild, so I started watching it part way through.

The first scence was some guy banging a woman from behind, her..rather large...mammaries swaying to and fro.

I was like "WHAT?" then went back to the guide and saw it was "Cleavagefield"....

But I think we should include it on the demo disk.

This was actually funny!!!

Which one is the one you want included? Remember the disc is intended to be PG13...

What about including some of the DTS intros? I always thought the piano bit was well done with a little bit of low end and surround mixed into a quick 10 sec clip.
