Looks like Vol II clips are the same as Vol I.

This Disc is more of VERSION 2 than Volume 2.

For what I gather from Steve's comments, he is trying to implement new features into the disc. Sonic Scenarist Authoring software is used to author the disc and this piece of software is very complex and difficult to figure out, thus the version 2.

I believe if there is a true volume 2, it will definitely be an out of this world DEMO DISC.

Looking forward for Version 2 in the mean time.

Version 2 is what I'm calling it because it'll be an update, implement new features, fix things that were incomplete and so on.

However Version 2 will also have new clips. There will be a significant enough change to the clip lineup but not every clip will be new. I see no reason to throw the baby out with the bath water. A great clip is a great clip and like I've always said, the purpose of this disc is to have a single go-to disc. One-stop shopping. If I have to switch discs then I have failed at my purpose.

I don't plan to ever create an actual volume 2, wherein it's a 100% different clip lineup. The clip selection, then collection, then trimming, then demuxing, then importing into authoring software is such a slow and long tedious process that I'd personal never start from scratch on a set of clips.

Bummer, was looking forward to it.

Thanks for the great version one Steve, but I don't really need two discs with the same clips on them, so I'll just stick with version 1 as my go to disc.

this is great news indeed. i just stream the iso to my dune and it works great. i did notice a bit of lip sync on one of the star trek clips, but im not sure if its the source or my scaler. i would love to see the version 2 though. any thoughts on when you think it would be complete steve?

ISO? Mine didn't look like an ISO file. It was a BR directory structure I think. Tried once to play it with my Dune but no go. I think I hit enter instead of play. I'll try again tonight but it should play the BR structure too.

Is the "Backup" directory necessary? What is it?

what i did was unzip all the files to a bdmv folder then run clown_bd to convert to iso. works perfect for me on my dune, but it should also work in bdmv folder. you may have to rename the folder "demo disk", then next folder "bdmv", then all the other folders inside (like auxdata, backup, bdjo, etc.)

OK, so I've been collecting new movies for a few months now for version 2.0 and I'd like to get some help on the timestamps, or at least a chapter. Movies that I have that will be added to the disc and/or replace some clips that were on version 1.

-War of the Worlds (someone already said Ch5 with the Pod emerging)
-Cloverfield
-Tron
-Transformers 2 (Imax Big Screen Edition, will be replacing forest fight scene)
-The Incredibles
-U571
-Inception
-Terminator Salvation
-Baraka

This time around I'm going to finalize the track listing before tackling the menu authoring. I had to make like 7 revisions last time around.

Edit: This isn't the only new clips being added to the disc, this is just some of the more requested items, which led me to believe I stand good chances of getting timestamps from you guys.

Music is a valid category IMO, but unfortunately I'm not willing to share something that contains complete songs. With the ruthlessness of the record industry in mind, it's simply foolish for me to do so.

I can put up 30second to 1minute clips of a song but unfortunately I have no ability, as of now, to "fade" the audio. I can re-encode the video and introduce a fade but I'm not sure what can be done with the lossless audio. I don't have access to software that can generate DTSHD/TrueHD streams. If the audio/video isn't faded as each clip comes to a close and as each clip opens then it's going to be rough abrupt endings and just will be poor.

Some people voiced comments over the abrupt endings of some of the movie clips. I addressed them by stating that is just how it is because I don't want to alter any of the streams to introduce a "fade." With music I'm willing to do that cause I don't think a re-encoded video file bother anyone but I'm stuck with the audio.

I have the first 70ish seconds of Hole in the World on the server to which you have access (HITWintro). Give it a try.

Now that the server is up again, there's a folder called "sizzle" (their title, not mine), which is Paramount's intro/trailer that they had on their HD titles. I thought there would be some poetic justice seeing it on a BD demo. Fun to watch, anyway. And, for some of us, wishful thinking.

is it 1080p 24fps video and one of the two HD-audio codecs? I'm trying to keep things in that format exclusively, or else you get annoying display device handshaking.

Here's a site where you can freely download almost all the studio trailers as well as the DTS, Dolby intros. 1080p, avc, for the most part 23.976, including the Paramount intro:

According to tsmuxer, the video is VC-1, 1920:1080i @ 29.97. Audio is E-AC3 (DD+), 1536Kbps, sample rate of 48KHz, 6 channels.
So I guess not.

2)The Titan AE animated movie ice field scene is very spectacular! Subwoofer hurt too!

3) U-571 any of the depth charge scenes are incredibly intense on a good subwoofer. Fantastic dynamic contrast. It's absolutely quiet as they are trying to not be detected, then boom, boom, boom blast --- it's a lot of fun to listen to!

Cloverfield and WOTW's are both absolutes too! I'm glad you plan on those!

I've heard a lot of things about the Flight of the Phoenix movie's airplane crash scene with Denis Quaid, but I've not yet watched it to confirm.

The pod racing scene from the first of the new star wars is also a lot of fun with a good subwoofer, although it doesn't hit as low as some of these others!

Two of my favorite surround sound demonstrations come from the Matrix movies. The first time Neo dodges a bullet on the roof in slow motion. Very cool full surround effects as the bullet flies by in slow motion. The other cool scene is in the third movie I think, when they are defending the city inside those mech suits against the onslaught of those octopus things. Incredibly intense surround sound!

Animusic is one more thing to take a quick look at.






BRAVO on the disk! Again revision 1 is awesome and was most excellent for our shootout! Everybody loved having the efficiency of the disk to switch tracks!!! I'll be anxiously awaiting disk two! Thank you for your contribution to the community!

OK, I've collected and ripped several, if not all, of the previously mentioned movies and I'd like some more timestamps. The sooner I get the individual trimmed clips made the sooner I'll get the disc out. It's last element of time-suck.

The authoring of the disc will go much faster this time around.

I've already got the disc returning to the same menu page you were last on after a clip completes. It also highlights the same button. This will allow me to include a "scope" users menu that will mask all of the non-scope clips for those with CIH set-ups.

I've also setup genre/category playlist and a whole disc playlist. This will let you play all of the clips on the whole disc, back to back, with a single menu button "play all" as well as play all of the clips in a certain category (LFE, Visuals, ect).

I'm specifically looking for timestamps on:

Baraka - Visuals (this disc is gorgeous)
Cloverfield - LFE
War of the Worlds - LFE (Pod immergence seems to be what everyone refers to but would be much more convienent if I actually had timestamps)
Hulk (2008) - LFE
Flight of the Pheonix - LFE
Terminator Salvation - LFE/Surround (Still not sure on this movie)
U-571 - LFE (Depth Charge Scenes, I may be using the floating target scene for Surround)

And, I'm still torn on the whole issue of Music.

I found DTS-HD Encoder Suite on the web that I thought might allow me to decode a DTS-HD track, introduce a fade, and then re-encode it but it doesn't seem to have the ability to decode an already encoded track.

Unless somebody else has any ideas on how to cleanly insert music tracks on this disc without featuring full songs (or nearly full songs) I'm afraid music won't make it.
