Subwoofer recommendations for Onkyo TX-SR608

Hi folks,

I am purchasing a Onkyo TX-SR608 and would like to get a solid subwoofer. Doesn't have to be off the charts top of the line.

Budget wise I would like to stay under $500 but could go a lower or higher depending on the fit

The room is 15x13.

Thanks

Need more of a description on what you want out of it....

Thanks...

I actually went with the Polk Audio PSW505. I got it Saturday along with the Onkyo TX-SR608.

I was a little leery that the sub would be too much for the size of the room as I unboxed it, but with bass volumes on the sub about 60%, and after running thru the Onkyo Audessy EQ, it sounds great. Clear strong bass without overpowering or taking over. We watched Robinhood last night and was very impressed with the combination sub/receiver.

Thanks again

Emphasis added by me: you can always turn down a sub if it is overwhelming the main audio. It is difficult to turn up a sub that is simply too small (not powerful enough) for the task.

IMHO,
