For 32" HDTV, is 1080p and/or 120Hz necessary?

We're planning on buying ourselves a 32" TV for our bedroom as our Christmas present to each this year. Hoping to find some good deals on Black Friday. With a TV this size, is the PQ difference between a 720p and 1080p set noticeable? I have a 52" 1080p set and must say I can see the difference between the two resolutions at that size, but how noticeable is it in a 32"?

Also, is 120Hz worth it in 32"? Again, my 52" is 120Hz, but I can't say I notice much of a difference.

This will be a bedroom TV that my wife will probably watch more than me and she's no where near as picky as me (she doesn't even notice some of her shows are in HD!), but since I plan on having this 32" for a long time, I want to make sure to get a good one and not kick myself for saving $50 and getting something I'm not happy with.

Also, any recommendations on which 32" are the best?

Thanks.

No point in spend extra for 1080p at 32". IMHO the money is better spent buying a larger set instead.
FWIW it's the entry models that typically go on black Friday sales, not 32" 1080p sets.

32" is plenty big enough for our bedroom. Plus the wife thinks the 52" is too big in the living room, so I'm lucky she's not limiting us to a 26"!

I've been reading some predictions that 32" will be on sale on Black Friday, some possible for under $300. I guess time will tell. I'll be keeping my eyes open.
