No, it's a custom design Nathan made for me. It uses two Peerless XLS drivers and is passive.

I've just entered into discussions with Nathan regarding a custom sub as well, partly due to the many effusive comments in this thread. If things work out I may end up owning one myself.

Certainly nothing as elaborate as a few of the others I've seen mentioned in this thread. My needs -- and budget -- are quite a bit more modest it seems.

It's a variation of a custom sub that Nathan had done previously. My requested configuration would be a 14" cube that will have a front firing 10" driver with a down firing 12" PR. I'm not a big fan of the "piano black" look though, so the finish would have a bit more of a matte look.

We'll see what happens. We've started exchanging emails about it, so things are progressing.

Very nice indeed. Great idea with the Enclosure Finishes link. Also the new loudspeakers look great.
If I had one constructive idea it would be to consider whether the intropage - where you choose to continue is actually helpful. I can see the nice design - but if you enter the site - you perhaps don't have to choose to do so again.

But again - looks great and also very promising.

heads up guys. Funk built a driver!!! im buying a 18.0 from them, with their new driver (TSAD18v1)... just as good as the 5400 in most respects. very effortless bass check out the editorial on their site! its kinda entertaining to read

I received my sub from Nathan lately, goes good with my Studio 100's, same sub as Warp's, except I went with Nathan's amp.

Thanks man I appreciate that, this thing is awesome, I'm coming from a Paradigm Sub 12, moved it to the bedroom. If you look close on top there was a mishap in shipping from DHL, they run a fork lift fork through the box, and gouged the top, but Nathan got reimbursed and is sending me a new cabinet. I will be sure and touch up the screws then. I havent fooled with the amp, Nathan mentioned maybe sending an omnimic around and setting the sub over the net, I might take him up on that, my knowledge is limited in setting things up. Mike

So my search has brought me here. I have read this entire thread and I think I see why you guys like FW subs. I have emailed Nathan about what he can build for me with my budget of $2K to suit my room and am waiting to see what he says. I have also told him what I am cross shopping with and I wonder what he says about that.

For 2k....I'd hope the 15.3 would be within the realm...although cost has not yet been determinded...

If your going over to Jim's (Sputters) again, I could come over and bring my FW build. You'll see his workmanship first hand and give you some idea...it's a fairly competent sub, in it's own right but I don't think it would comapre against anything he'll build in the 2k range...that is for sure....

You could get an 18.0 with Nathans new 18" neo driver, which from what has been stated, is extremely close to the LMS driver, without the weight.... I would talk to him about this if I was shopping.

I already did but that would be over my budget. Also arent two better than one?

So far nathan says that the best option for me would be "the pair of 15.0's in passive radiator setup". Thats two each powered by separate DSP EQ amp.... or thats how I understand it.

Thing is this would still be more than a CHT pair hehe

might be expensive, but what you get has no rival. the quality in sound and craftsmanship is unsurpassed and you have control over the look of the finished product. the thing that kills me, is how he can set up the system in your house, for the room you've chosen, over the internet. if that isn't super awesome then nothing is. a pro set up online would CHT set up your system online? plus the warranty is totally killer.
the FA site says that there is a sale coming up... maybe you should see what that is all about.

i live 1/2 hr away from the FA studio, so i go there often (twice a month), and ive heard the TSAD vs the LMS. in my opinion, the TSAD has effortless bass, is cleaner sounding above 40Hz, and warmer below 40Hz, quicker response, and better detail. its also cheaper then the LMS. FA is doing some pretty cool stuff, ive seen some prototypes but ive been sworn to secrecy.
