I'm assuming these amps are a good match for the LMS Ultra 18, is that correct?

My amp should get here next week, I just wish I had the Marathon 5050 that is stuck in back order to compare against it.

Yes they are designed to run the LMS5400 and Pro18 5100, in the FW18.0 and FW18.3. We will likely use it in the upcoming FW15.0 and FW15.3 as well. It can also be used in custom subwoofers with other drivers, when suitable.

I see an FW 10.1 as a ported 10"; do you also make a sealed 10"?

If so, what dimensions and FR would one expect?

PPS. I am looking for 2 small subs for 2.1 systems. One is computer setup the other is livingroom but size are critical.

We don't have a standard design for those but we can do custom. A sealed 10" with the same driver as the 10.1 could be ~15" cube, and would be the same price as the 10.1. F3 of 35 Hz, f10 of 20 Hz.

The 8" is under redesign as we are going to another driver. We are thinking of a sealed dual opposed 8" with a 300 watt Bash amplifier, it will be ~13" cube, F3 40hz F10 24hz. It will be a little more than the old 8.1, but close.

If someone was brave enough there is probably is market down here for a completed built sub with 2000w amp.
From what I understand it's the electronics getting passed or c-ticked as we call it to be able to sell commercially in Australia.
How hard is it to make or convert to 220v/240v?
The closest thing is SGR doing a Mal-X with either powered by a hypex 800w or pro amp.

Here is a peak at a new product, and yes we can do custom designs like this as well. It is CNC machined 1" Aluminum plate. The enclosure this will mount to will be stacked birch ply.

The 35Hz f3 is the modeled response correct?

So with room gain, what kind of in-room extension could one expect?

Yes 35hz is half space model. Room gain can vary a lot but I would expect Mid 20's.

And would the sealed SDX10 design also use the 300W BASH amp used in the 10.1?

That amp doesn't have any boost in the stock version, but can be modded to add boost, correct?

Yes same amp, it has ~1db boost around 30hz IIR, and can it be changed.

Two things; The CNC machined 1" Aluminum plate baffle is simply gorgeous...make my head swirl with possibilities. Also, wrt the big 4kw amp, are those fans mounted at the bottom of the heat sinks?

Yes the amp has cooling fans, fully variable speed, low noise.

So that amp has a 4000Watt Peak? It will be interesting to see it against the Marathon 5050.

I'm still trying to figure out if it's worth attempting to rejig my boxes to fit this sort of an amp into them vs having that monster QSC RMX 5050. I think it makes sense, though I'm wondering about having two amps with two fans, albeit in an enclosure vs. the single amp in the QSC. Plus, I have a center cross brace that I'd have to figure out what to do with even if these amps would fit into the enclosures and I could cut the box. Hmmm...

Is the 5050 just taking up too much room?

That is a great amplifier!

What Warp just said. Even with the modded fan I can still here it during low passages and find it annoying. Plus, having a 75lb beast on an otherwise elegant Salamander rack in my family room is a bit annoying.

Besides, removing the 5050 from the rack would free up space for more exciting new gadgets that I don't really need but will spend money on anyhow.

Hmm, do you have a closet on the same floor?
Can you run cables through your basement or walls?

What I am getting at is maybe you could store the amp somewhere else and put a ded outlet on a switch?

That amp is very cool. You could even config some "out" terminals to parallel or series another separate sub.

Yes 4000 watts peak, 2000 watts RMS, The 5050 has around twice the RMS output but even twice the power is only 3db difference, so it should be within that range.

Some of the nicest veneer work I've seen. The machining is cool.
The quality of drivers speaks volumes about the desired end product.
Nathan isn't too far from me. Might have to take a drive up his way to decide if I really want to mess with DIY when I'm so busy.
Canadian made is always a plus for us guys up north, as mentioned, so we don't get hosed on duty, brokerage,delays, etc.

Workmanship is stunning.............no doubt!

Anyhow, I'm not interested in a beauty queen ........ rather I'm looking for two inert enclosures supporting the best drivers available........both subs will be placed behind a facade AT wall/screen.

Good looks will take a back seat as sound quality and box real estate trumps all! I want the Velodyne Digital Drive sound/distortion levels with much greater SPL capabilities...................

Am I asking too much?

So do the 2000 watt plate amps have any form of adjustable boost for a sealed 4cuft LMS or is it just something the user adds with a Bassis, DCX or MiniDSP on his own?

What's a good boost range for the LMS in a 4cuft sealed with that much power anyway?
