I have had the SR605 for several years. It was hooked up to a ps3 and xbox 360 on an hdmi switcher.
I had an electrical storm plus the power company switched the electrical box the next day. I'm not sure why but afterwards I had slight damage but odd damage
1) the receiver HDMI Port failed (one of them the one through the HDMI switcher to the xbox/ps3)
2) the xbox 360 hdmi port failed
I ended up replacing the HDMI switcher and now the xbox 360 is on component (I still have one working HDMI port so it is handling tivo HD + PS3).
This is just enough oddness not to cover a 500 deductible. Now the onkyo clicks a lot when signals change. . .
any thoughts?
IF I was to replace the SR605 what is the recommended step up (budget receiver I would say. . .less than 600)
