Is that a "feature" not implemented yet ? Or, is it really, really hard to find ?

There was a feature for this (I forget the menu item) under 1.8, but have no clue if it was brought to 1.9 or not...

They probably just forgot to take it out of the "help" section and off the 1.9 FAQ's on Vz's site. When I think about it, transparency would just make the text even harder to read. Enough for now, my wife has taken away my remote

No transparent menus in 1.9

Having an issue with my 7232- out of nowhere it's recently started freezing and rebooting (full restart) when I scroll through the recordings I have, specifically freezes on one program I have recorded every time. Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks in advance, any advice is greatly appreciated.

For those of you that have multi room media activated, when there're 2 7232's can you access either one from the other ?

I'd run the agent in the menu for both the stb fixes and the DVr fixes. Helped my unit.

HELP

I noticed someone earlier touched on this, but I never saw a solution. I have a harmony 890 with extender (because the 900 is an RF paperweight) and a new QIP 7232-2 in another room. All commands from the remote are doubled or tripled (i.e. pushing "5" gets "55" or "down" scrolls down 2-3 lines). I have indeed set the repeats on the remote to "0". It seems like the Motorola box is too fast!

Has anyone found a solution? Getting desperate here.

Just received my 7323/2 yesterday! Two things I noticed right off the bat are that this box is much faster/responsive then the 6416 that I was using and unfortunatly I can no longer use the Remote DVR function via my Blackberry because the DVR menu now says it's only available to Verizon cell phone users (hogwash).

Anyone know when 1.9a or 1.9.1 is supposed to be rolled out in North Texas (Carrollton)?
You have 1.9a. 1.9.1 is still in test.

I currently have a multi room DVR 7216. Can I buy a used one and install it with my new tv, or do I have to rent one from VZ and pay them monthly for it?

Used ones are Stolen, so NO. All Verizon DVR's are the property of Verizon.

They have to be autherized on the network before they can be put into use. Thats not going to happen with an Ebay or Craig's List unit.

Have 2 7232s and have been having problems with scheduled recordings just stopping at some random time. I set all of my series with 5min before and after padding. Last week had a show stop recording 5 minutes before the end (while still starting 5 minutes before) which made a 60 minute recording when it should have been 70. Had one today that started at the correct time and stopped recording after 24 minutes (for a 1 hour show). No schedule conflicts. This has happened on both DVRs. Anybody have the same problems? Solutions?
Thanks.

No problems like that for me and I've not read anywhere else of that issue.

All 7232's now have a 500gb drive. You won't see that figure in the dvr screens though.
Just the % of space used/remaining. >DVR>Recordings>

I have had this issue! I thought it was just a "one-off", but I've seen this happen on my device a few times, and just like you, it happened when I have modified the start and / or end times to give it extra padding.

I've had a handful of shows do this, they will cut off at random times, for example a one-hour show which I added 5 mins to the front and back, recorded for 24 minutes.

If you have 1 hr of hd programming recorded, for example, the space used for a 500gb drive will be ~ 1%.

My bedroom box has 24.5 hrs of hd recordings and it's 31% full. So, that should give you some idea
compared to yours.

I am a new customer and my FIOS is scheduled to be installed on Monday. Will I most likely be getting a 7232 box or is this something that I will have to ask/annoy VZ until I can get it?

I also have the multi-room system with a DVR on my main tv with a STB in by bedroom but I am not clear on what the capabilities are. I want to be able to record, pause and RWD live tv from both my main TV and in my bedroom. I want to be able to access recordings from the DVR in both locations also. Will the MR setup let me do this or do I need something else? What do I need to set up this type of system?

Most of the New Installs are getting the latest 7232 STB
Yes you can do that.

Not quite.

This you cannot do. You need a DVR in the bedroom to pause and rewind live TV in this room. You can set recordings from this location and they will record on the DVR.

This you can do. You can view, schedule, and delete recordings in both locations (with some limitations in the remote rooms).
Crankerchick is correct.
I missed the part where you only have an STB in your bedroom and not another DVR.
If i had a dvr in the 2nd room then I assume it would not be able to access recordings from the main room? It seems like basically there is no way to have two tvs share one dvr and also have the ability to pause live tv.

Yes, you would be able to watch recordings from either location. Meaning from location 1 you could watch shows recorded on location 2's DVR and vise versa.

So my VZ install was Yesterday and as the tech was installing the boxes, my wife inquired about the 'newest' DVR and was assured by the tech that we were getting the newest boxes with the largest storage. She texts me this info while I am at work and I am all

I get home from work and check out the box and its a Cisco CHS 435 . According to the bottom of the box the software is 1.4 (isn't that super old?) The bedroom STB is also a Cisco but I don't recall the model at the moment.

Both boxes look like hell, nowhere near new. Kind of annoyed. As a new customer in 2012 I would expect to get the newest box that other installs have been getting since 2010-2011.

The box seems to function fine but as a techy I wish I had the latest and greatest. I have also read that the 435 can get laggy with remote inputs.

Should I make a fuss to get the 7232? What are my options?

on the plus side, Fios PQ looks great. Watching Comcast on Sunday night vs. Fios on Monday on the same TV there is an obvious improvement in overall PQ.

You don't indicate where you are located, but if you have a Vzn store within a reasonable distance, you can take them there and swap them out.
