Finally took the plunge on Plasma

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Panny 42PX24 and was 'satisfied' with the picture. However the 42" ended up getting the best of me. Coming from a 50 Sony LCD Rear Projection, which I really liked, the 42 was too small. Decided to go with 50 but didn't want to get a Panny because of the 1024X768 deal. Not sure I could have been able to tell but sometimes just knowing is enough. Ended up with the Samsung PN50C450 and the picture is WOW! Man it's great! Can't believe how good it looks. I do have a slight buzz but with the natural ringing in my ears, I can barely hear it . I do have one question. There was a setting on the Panny I really liked. If the TV detected no change for 3 hours(volume change, channel change etc) it would automatically turn off. Does the Samsung have this feature somewhere?

.. 'bout time, you've been a real pain lately.

buzz: might try tighting up screws on backside of set; would not over-tweak, just hand-tighten.

auto shut-down: would check in owner's manual under 'Energy savings' section; not heard/read of this in any postings.

very good selection.

I'm curious if you notice a difference in glare between the panny and the sammy? I think the X24 has an anti reflective filter whereas the sammy does not. Do you notice a difference?

Enjoy your TV,

The Samsung is a hair more reflective, but not much. Picture is great however and as long as the buzz doesn't get louder I am satisfied. My wife is the 'we already have a TV, why do you need to get a different one?' When I hooked the Samsung up and we watched Survivor last night she was like 'wow'. No kidding. She was really impressed. She said I liked the other one but this one looks much better.
