Is it possible? I have Windows 7 in my gaming/main rig, but I was trying to avoid buying ANOTHER license for my HTPC.

Bitstreaming how, exactly? Are you going to be using TMT3/PDVD10, or are you going to be using MPC-HC + ffdshow? I guess you could just try following dbone's guide and see if it works. I don't believe XP supports it, but I haven't tried it myself.

MPC-HC for sure. I'll try and see if it works...

I've tried different methods and couldn't get any of them to work with XP Pro or XP MCE except when combined with my Asus HDAV 1.3 which is a pretty expensive solution.

If you get it working, please let us know how you did it. I've got an unused XP Pro license I want to use.

I am about to start a new OS (Win7) on a SSD drive (64GB). I am wondering if its possible to burn/copy an image of my whole C: drive and all it contains so that when I want to re-install Win7, I can just get that image that's on a flash drive, other HD, blank Blu-ray, etc etc...?

Is this possible? I'd likely keep saving this image (once a week, twice a month, whatever) and then when I comes to wanting to reformat, I can just format my SSD and then copy the entire image over and voila, Win7 and all my programs are still perfectly installed....

Possible?

I use the freeware version of Macrium Reflect and it's worked perfectly for me on WinXP, Vista, and 7.

I'm not sure. I've gone from Powerquest Drive Image to Acronis True Image to Macrium.

I think it is in the Ultimate version only.

Home Premium supports full-system backup and restore. How to copy the image to a new drive.
