I highly doubt the optical out spits out Dolby Headphone. I 99.9% believe that the optical out is gonna maintain the untouched Dolby Digital signal. Remember, it was made to go into a typical receiver for Dolby, DTS, and what have you. Giving it dolby headphone would be messing up the signal for the receiver.

Believe me, if it added Dolby Headphone without the amping, I'd order it right now, but in order for something to qualify as a line out/pass through, I believe it has to be the original signal untouched...otherwise it's no different than a pre-amp (or rather a pre-DH?)

I figured it would be an untouched signal.... people would put this in between their AVR. Since our consoles only dump out 1 optical..., this is not a bad idea. I could always dream though.

WE could always dream. Damn, someone make a DH device that ONLY adds the DH processing to a signal! >_<<br />
I dunno if the JVC SUD-H1 did just that, but no way I'll spend that much if it does...

I just took the plunge and pre-ordered the Astros 5.8 with the A40's. I figured I would use an optical splitter connected to the in to the mixamp and connect my PS3 and Xbox to the splitter and then feed the out to my AVR. I also have my PS3 connected via HDMI to the receiver so I can always just switch the audio to the HDMI when I am not using headphones. Hopefully this setup will keep me from having to switch cables.

Just wondering if anybody here who know better then I might see any issues with this plan. Thanks.

He was referring to me...

What happened was I got my 360s about a week ago and although the sound quality was there...felt they were a little tight around my head. After having them for just a little bit I can tell they're actually going to work out quite well after all for they have stretched out a bit.

I think for now I'm going to go ahead and keep them but if you want I can point you in the right direction if you wanna scoop an pair for yourself.

I'm about to pull the trigger, but I was told the razer carcharias were a really good set for the money. so im gonna pick those up at best buy tomorrow and try them out before i get the pc 360s, and if i dont like them i can just take them back.

Yeah for sure...they're over in the PC section I saw them a few days ago. I heard they were good as well just didn't last as long - speaking of which if I were you I'd buy the two year plan on them. It'll probably cost you like 10 or 20 bucks but you can take them back and trade them for a brand new pair any time you want. And then...if you've found you've gone through a few pairs and you're really not happy with them or you just want to upgrade to something else you can take them back anytime within that first two years and get your money back, even the money you paid for the plan. I went through about 6 pairs of TB X41's before I finally threw in the towel & grabbed the mixamp with the senns.

I dunno, I looked at the Razer Carcharias and was close to getting it when I was looking into the PX21. I'd personally wait until I had the funds for a PC360.
I now know better than to settle for anything less than the AX720.

Damn you guys...

As for FFA in MW2, it's a blast when I get people complaining that I'm boosting by going 30-0 and stuff. I'm always like " I killed YOU multiple times, how can I be boosting if I'm running around killing YOU about 7 times in the match, in different areas?"

I can't wait for Theater Mode in Black Ops, so they can see that some people are just good at NOT dying." I'm extremely paranoid at my surroundings in game... the only way people sneak up on me is when I'm running myself, and I usually only run when an area is entirely clear. To be honest, I die mostly from spawners who happen to spawn right behind me. I hate that about MW2. Spawn points suuuuck.

I actually still play at the default sensitivity. The aiming is too jumpy for me otherwise. I just don't know how people can play at max sensitivity. I'm not that gentle with my thumbs.

Shin dude I swear once you start upping your sensitivity you will NEVER go back. The default sensitivity is 2 I believe...if you can just up that to a 4 even - you'd notice a lot more maneuverability in your strafing. That's what I did...and then I went up to a 5, then 6, then 7. For me 6 is just about perfect but 7 works well too. And if you haven't switched over to a tactical button layout yet - the transition kind of sucks - but it's smooth sailing after that. And yes...I know all about the "you're camping" comments - and it used to piss me the F off. That's why I finally changed my preferences so I can't hear anyone who's not on my friends list - there's just way too many d-bags who play COD.

10 sensitivity with an FPS freek on the right stick here.

when i dont play for a while i have to bump it down to a 7 until i get used to it again.


my little brother has the razer... they look pretty neat, but they're on par with some of the cheaper TB stuff... and when i play on xbl with him, his mic is TERRIBLE.
