I use and would recommend the Astro Mixamp. Mine is connected directly to the 360 via an optical cable. My 360 console is connected to my TV via HDMI, so I can also choose to hear audio on the TV if I want to game without headphones (which is not often, I almost always game with headphones).
Connecting to the TV is also doable but use caution. Some TVs do not pass a Dolby Digital signal through the optical output, and the listening experience will be noticeably poorer if this is the case.

To anyone with experience with the Beyerdynamics.
I've been reading this thread about which headphones to try and am split between the DT880 and DT990, it seems like the majority prefer the DT990 but my concern is the strong treble and bass, I'm more used to balanced headphones but then again I've never had hi end headphones before.
I intend to use them only for gaming and blu rays but I dont play fps except third person like Gears of War, Resident Evil and such, I like RPG's with a lot of dialogue as well, would the DT990's treble and bass be too heavy?
I'd probably go with 600 ohms of which ever I pick since apparently they're better?
