Using Taps (5-1000MHz) with Directv?

I want to run the following sources: tv(comcast ota), directv receiver, and cable modem. I have a run that I know is comcast, and another that will be dtv. I'd like to run one cable from the two inputs and then split them at their appropriate inputs. Do I have to run the directv cable separately or can it travel over the same cable? I believe I am using RG-6, but im not sure exactly how to know.

What is the best way to run the cable? Will these style taps kill the directv signal?

THanks!

DirecTV and your Comcast can't share the same cable or similar equipment. You'll need a separate drop for DirecTV. And, assuming you're using SWM equipment, you'll need SWM "splitters" to feed the different (up to 8 tuners) receivers. Ordinary cable TV equipment won't work.

Here's a good explanation of how it all works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkpahQBYFYc
